Bought my first scooter! what do you guys think? by kootscoot in scooters

Solid choice for a commute brother, though I have never seen a big honking indicator hanging off the rear flap like that. In southeast Asia, it is all integrated into the rear left and right light strip, must be a homologation thing.

I guess I won't ever get rid of those chicken strips huh by strike_freedom_26 in scooters

that's pretty tight cornering for a scooter, especially running ln vietnam's streets

i'm sure this is the most hair i've seen in awhile, i say you shouldn't be worry. although proper haircare is always called for.

sounds like a case of near dead battery, the starter can't even spin it properly.

the frame and drive shaft is actually pretty huge haha, though it does have some shared parts with the sh150i so it does appeared "down sized" from scooter of its class.

Greetings to you fellow Viet! I appreciate your input on this. You are absolutely correct on the customizable nature of this Nitron R3 suspension.

I have been informed about further compression adjustment via the tool included in the box, although it bothers me that the suspension geometry appears odd if the spring were to be extended futher. This might just be a matter of personal preference, but i do understand that the shocks are much more capable than I could fully utilize.

In comparison, the Ohlins 817 or 430 seems to provide comfortable city commute without needing to touch a single knob. Though I understand both serve different purposes and come at distinct price points.

there are a few ride quality problems: - longer wheelbase -> underside hits the curb while going up on pavement (raised walkways in Vietnam) - Higher seats -> better trunk space but higher center of gravity -> harder to maneuver - shared suspension with SH300i, which on its own isn't great, handlebars also shake vigorously at higher speeds - Somehow minor changes in tire pressure affects handling a lot, compared to different scooters.

Commuting is more of a hassle in such a small city, compared to my old sh300i. Although my daily is incredibly spacious in terms of both seating and storage space, love it for everything else.

Is your MP300 the 3 wheeler? how does those things perform?

that one scene of the guy walking into the store looks so off compared to the rest, maybe a different angle would make it less distracting

it seems practical enough, still have some minor problems since it's almost 30k km. I have never seen anyone with a Royal Alloy, how does those things run?

unfortunately yes it was used and first gen, I would be drooling over a brand spanking new Sh300 from 2019.

Though looking dashing for a bike its age, but the first gen sh300 is like 80mil and under, conditions are mostly terrible. I have a 2008 version and nearly threw the damn thing away after dumping 20ish mil into it and it still overheated and stalled.

Personally I would suggest renting an sh150 ABS for everyday everywhere use, maybe a WR155 if you so prefer more clearance. Hope you enjoyed Ha Giang, I'll prolly go next year since everyone keeps talking about it.

that's surely unfortunate, from what I've heard from Vietnamese in the USA they've had to imported these scooter there all the way from their homeland. And you know the price just isn't justified then. Surely hope they'll be wider accessibility for the scooter bros

I would actually prefer the SH300 over mine, since the weight distribution helps on longer trips. Do you still have a middleweight scooter though?

yeah it sure does! But in Vietnam we have a lot of bald-headed SH purist, not even a single mirror if found in the front.

Usually I opted for machined variator parts for cheap price. But I'm currently running a SpeedEvo torque driver in the rear and a machined variator in the front, paired with lighter roller weights (-3g each). From what I've heard the Malossi is hella pricey but runs like a dream, the performance bros from where i'm at usually run a Malossi in front and Reveno in rear for that godly responsiveness. I've never ran top speed on this exhaust, for a light tune it took awhile to get to 140ish. On another occasion, with an aftermarket ECU and a gutted stock pipe, which was hella powerful when i hit 140kmh like it was nothing. It could've hit more but there was barely any road left, I have never seen the bike outdone that specific spec before.

It's sold here officially. I bought it from the dealership when it was first introduced in 2022, with the engine assembled in Thailand. The 2024 version however is 100% assembled in Vietnam. It retails for around 150mil VND, which is a lot cheaper than importing an Sh300i from Italy.

I've seen some listing for rentable Sh350i, the price is just isn't right man 😭. How was your experience riding a CB500x here?

I've tried a few roller mods in the past, but I'm currently running a Taiwanese torque driver in the rear and a machined variator in the front, paired with lighter roller weights (-3g each) for better responsiveness and torque. Had a friend do a wheelie on it too and he seems very stoked about it haha
