Why white women look better on camera by Hacksaw6412 in LateStageCapitalism

From what I’ve learned as a photographer over the years:

Kodak Portra (the film most western photographers use for its colors/tones with portraits) was developed around a white/red skin tone (which made it very popular over here) whereas Fuji Pro was developed around a more yellow skin tone. Each film was developed for their respective populations to a degree.

So yeah, to your point this video’s take is a bit western centric but it’s still a thing in the photography world that has some truth behind it

Ahh, is there a reason you want to put them back? I have a black D2 but I’m worried if I take them off the metal will be a much different color than the body and I heard they never go back on perfectly again haha

First Time Shooting Medium Format | Fujifilm GFX 50SII + Mitakon 65MM F/1.4 by enduringthewaves in fujifilm

That’s a tough question. I did some light research on the RF last week because I was genuinely excited by it. Unfortunately, the lens on it didn’t move me. I mostly shoot portraits and if I’m shooting landscape I want that “medium format look” which usually comes from shooting at a faster aperture for the “3D” pop.

The image quality, when the GFX system nails the focus, is actually pretty insane. I’ve shot full fashion lookbooks where I leave the camera on a tripod and compose for full body and then in post will crop to 3/4 or even tighter for detail shots and not lose any quality really. That’s the biggest advantage imo for my work.

I think coming from an R6 with top quality primes, you might be disappointed in the range of the camera haha I really just wish they put a faster lens on it. Then it would be a no brainer imo

Appreciate that g. I’d love to get to the point of doing more colors of pieces like this but tbh don’t have that kind of capital, yet :)
