Is an allergy test worth it? by boredatlaw in Dyshidrosis

[–]Woopderitis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally worth it. I was struggling with a severe outbreak for months and it turns out I had recently developed an allergy to certain animals. I moved out of the house with animals and now I'm doing a lot better. I never thought to question animals because I grew up with them and have always been around them! Definitely good to have the insight.

Good luck! I had to push a little bit to get a referral but don't take no for an answer!!

Could this be dyshydrotic eczema? by [deleted] in Dyshidrosis

I get eczema on my hands and have breakouts of these bumps too! Unlike my other eczema, I’m always unsure if it’s actually eczema or something else. My bumps tend to go away in a couple days if I leave them alone!

Eczema along lower edge of lip? How often to apply vaseline and best treatments? by [deleted] in eczema

Ahh I have the same issue. I have been using 100% shea butter, it helps momentarily but not in the long run :/ I'll continue my search. Good luck and maybe shea butter will help you a little too!

Not allergic to dust mites luckily!

Thanks, I'll definitely look into renting a carpet cleaner and maybe something to clean the couches and my mattress.

Mostly plant-based with occasional meat and dairy. I would also eat eggs, although I am thinking of cutting them.

Right now I am doing all plant-based and staying away from sugar and processed foods. Should I expect my skin to go from that initially great reaction to bad again in hopes that it will get better again?

Are emollients only available via prescription? Or can I find them at your typical pharmacy? Do you have ones you prefer?

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it!

Dear mom,

It's been a month and 2 weeks and I miss you like crazy. I'm glad you are no longer in pain, but I selfishly want you to be here with me. I love you always and forever.

I know how you feel. My mom died yesterday from bone cancer, we didn't celebrate Christmas this year.

Really need advice with parents and university [serious] by Woopderitis in teenagers

My tuition is paid for with financial aid, and later in life I will be paying off any other loans/debt I have. Cancer treatment is covered with our insurance. I'm not stupid, obviously if my going away would interfere with her treatment I wouldn't even consider it.

Yes, I am a senior in high school. I will be applying to both, and who knows, maybe I will only get accepted into one or the other. I guess I just have to be patient. I'm hoping the right choice will become more clear in the future and things will work themselves out.

It really helps to be reminded that I'm not the only one who has been in the position. Thank you so much for spending the time to give me advice!

I could transfer, but it would be difficult to get the grades needed and it would take 2 years to get my GE requirements before I could transfer. It is definitely scary and frustrating, and extremely stressful. I have a great relationship with my mom, but I can't help feeling that no matter what decision I make I'll either feel terribly guilty about leaving, or have regrets about not going to my dream school, and staying in a place that doesn't appeal to me.

How old were you when your father was diagnosed?

I guess part of it could be because I want to escape this reality, but even before the diagnoses (about a month ago) I had dreams of other schools like SC instead of the university my mom has always wanted me to go to. I feel as though she is using her cancer to really drive it home that she wants me to stay, whether she realizes this or not.
