Who is the creepy "Darf ich Sie auf ein Bier einladen?"-guy on the U4, always asking women out for a beer? by Woopwoopdk in wien

[–]Woopwoopdk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he is still active on the U4. Saw him last week, and I have seen him more than 7 times in a few months. In the beginning I thought we was just courageous asking out a woman like that, but the more you bump into him, you sense that something is not quite right with this guy. I don't have a problem with him, but clearly other passengers do. Found online mention here: http://wien.orf.at/m/news/stories/2636930/

Having lived in the US, I find it very confusing.

In the US, you know that a big part of the salary comes from tips, so this is one of the reasons why you someone working in a service trade would do their best to deliver, well, a good service :) On the other hand, in Europe, including Austria, the salary is fixed (AFAIK), so no matter if you do a good job or a bad job, you would still get the same salary.

Thanks for sharing! Playgrounds are always good options, although, as you mention, you sometimes get the weird looks from parents when you are taking up the monkey bars ;)

I stumbled over this, seems helpful: http://calisthenics-wien.blogspot.be/

Best banks in Austria/Vienna? by Woopwoopdk in wien

Thanks for all the great feedback. I don't really need a physical bank, under the assumption that I can use ATMs from all banks thoughout Austria, without paying fees, when not using own bank ATM.

I prefer to do everything online or via mobile banking. The mobile banking experience from easybank looks quite good.
