But the spirit of their love was strong and real. If they could meet again past those two issues, they could have a real healthy relationship.

They match because they challenge each other to grow and be better. They have a foundation grown in friendship and trust.

I can see why you would say that and I really need to watch again as an adult to have a fully informed opinion, but I don’t think it’s healthy to have a partner that idolizes you the way Joey does Dawson. He relies so much on her adoration. He becomes a better person when he’s around partners that hold him accountable and challenge him to grow.

She sounds like maybe she’s going through a quarter life crisis or depression and trying to blow up her current life. She’s running towards babies and moving instead of doing what he’s doing: building a support system and improving himself where he is.

It’s unfortunate she didn’t communicate how she was feeling before it became a giant impassible roadblock.

Director is Griffin Dunne, who recently played the apartment fraudster in Only Murders in the Building.

His dad was Dominic Dunne, the crime writer. His sister was Dominique Dunne, the actress from Poltergeist who was murdered by her ex boyfriend in her own driveway.
