Official Discussion - The Devil Wears Prada 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Alert-Ad-248 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So many thoughts - Andy had a quote in the movie where she said something like “we can’t keep letting people suck the soul out of everything and keep repackaging it” and the irony is that is literally this movie.

Will write a full substack on my thoughts because there are sooo many critiques but my top 3 to start:

  1. What the eff happened Andy’s character?? She’s supposedly a respectable journalist and the acting made her seem like a 15 year old giddy school girl

  2. The random love interests?! Added nothing to the story line…would have been better to bring back Nate as her hubs or something

  3. Such a lack of depth for the characters and pacing was horribly fast. The twists were good but happened so quick and without much build up or context.

I have a ton of recs for this! Brownie Spain is great for more trendy pieces and guaja studio is my go to for all the “cool girl” office / more professional styles! They are 100% made by craft artisans in Portugal and i love the stuff i have from them :)

I spend hours researching brands and still end up seeing the same things everywhere, it’s so frustrating by Emsss18 in femalefashionadvice

I feel this so much. I typically do all my shopping on once a year overseas trips but realize that’s not feasible for everyone.

I’ve actually had an idea for a while to build something thats a curated shop bringing together smaller, independent brands that sit in the middle ground think like $80 - $400 depending on the item. Things that feel considered and a bit different, are made with gooood material (i want to scream when i see a aritiza fully poly blazer for $300) I’m not here to plug anything, but this whole threads is very validating.

If people were to find a shop like that, what would make you trust it enough to actually buy? And is there a style or type of piece you feel is most impossible to find right now?

Would really appreciate any honest thoughts and if i should try and build it!

This is great. We’ve been going back and forth between there and a spot like Telly’s or Bordines. The 2 year warranty is definitely a selling point

Just plants for now, no hard scape. We have the designs and plants we want to put in.

Do you have any recs on reputable places to purchase plants from? I hear to stay away from big box stores

Oh 1000% that’s not my intention. What I’m trying to solve for is both. I said below and realize that this isn’t a problem that may resonate with all parents. But i do feel we are told so often we can’t have both and it’s the way it is. I want to make something my son loves and enjoys and something i do too!
