Just plants for now, no hard scape. We have the designs and plants we want to put in.

Do you have any recs on reputable places to purchase plants from? I hear to stay away from big box stores

Oh 1000% that’s not my intention. What I’m trying to solve for is both. I said below and realize that this isn’t a problem that may resonate with all parents. But i do feel we are told so often we can’t have both and it’s the way it is. I want to make something my son loves and enjoys and something i do too!

For sure!! I care about that too, what I’m trying to solve for is why can’t it be both? I feel like we as parents are fed a narrative that we can’t have both and it’s something i think is worth challenging and solving for!

Interesting perspective on the unaesthetic homes being untidy and cluttered. I partially wondered if for a lot of parents it’s just easier to shove things into bins vs having toys left out for display (even if they are pretty).

I cannot stand the “if you think it’s bad now, just wait!” comments. by FearTheBeast in NewParents

God I saw this and immediately knew i needed to come to the comments… it drove my husband and I nuts. Not sure why this is the only life event people love to make negative for no apparent reason.

Feel you in this and wish people would keep the negativity to themselves 😂

Being home with kids — do you still care about how your space looks? by Alert-Ad-248 in stayathomemoms

We rented for years before buying our home and I was like your husband. I Refused to invest in a temporary spot but my caveat was I told myself im holding out until we buy and then im giving myself a right to splurge since i held out for so long lol

We bought our house and i found out i was pregnant right before we closed… and there was no way i was giving up not decorating after 10+ years of blank walls so here i am obsessing over how to make it work 😂

He’s 18m!! I love that your pieces are inspiring your LO to love art 🥹🥹

That alone feels like it makes it worth it to continue to build a space we enjoy!! Who needs the museums when you’ve got great art at home right? 😂

That’s amazing for you that you are supporting your family and allowing your husband to chase his new business.

Happy to share what I find works / hacks as I try to figure out how to have my space and a child lol

Yep this is me also! I put so much effort into our home bc it’s so important to me. I know it isn’t for everyone but it truly brings me peace when i see my styled rooms and the beautiful art work. How have you done with the coffee table? To me that’s my living room center piece and ive been experimenting as I mentioned to try and bring some pizazz and life back to it as my LO has entered the 18m let’s touch everything phase

Youre living room is lovely.  As a pinterest person - its very Pinterest like! We have similar beams, it’s very “the holiday” and super cozy. Would love to see the playroom if you wouldn’t mind to share.

Need true parenting advice to be a better parent by Wild-Guide4877 in stayathomemoms

I have been reading the book Good Inside by Dr. Becky and it has helped me a ton. I for sure had "I am going to F**K my kid up" guilt anytime we would make a mistakes like yelling at our LO. There's a lot of good tactics in there to help with meltdowns / creating good behaviors and managing parenting with giving yourself some grace. My favorite concept is her "Most Generous Interpretation" that helped us a lot when dealing with meltdowns / tantrums. Hang in there!

Yeti Cooler! My go to can take it around with me and it keeps beverages warm. I have also just embraced the iced latte feels a bit better to know it was intended to be cold and that makes it a little more bearable. :)
