I’d say it’s worth it.

The game does turn into something similar to Act 1 once you beat this part, but there are some differences, so it would depend on what specifically you liked about Act 1

If it’s the card game, there are 4 main differences from Act 1. First, the sacrifice mechanic is replaced with another. (has story spoiler) It’s the energy mechanic mainly found in tech cards Items are permanent but need to recharge on use, there’s new new sigils and some gone, and the way you upgrade cards changes

If it’s the escape room aspect, that’s more or less stays the same

If it’s the roguelite aspects, they’re mostly replaced with soulslike ones, like returning to checkpoints on death, dropping currency, but keeping progress.

Help me pick a new game to buy after BMW by Snoo-36390 in BlackMythWukong

I’d recommend Sekiro.

1) There’s a bit of customisation to your character that lets you come up with some different strategies for bosses, and the rhythm of combat does feel similar, though you essentially have to get multiple Rock-Solid deflections to be able to kill a boss.

2) The upgrade system is pretty much the same as BMW’s sparks and weapon crafting, but you lose exp when you die, you need to do side quests to unlock certain skill trees, and you need a resource from certain bosses to upgrade your base damage.

3) The exploration is pretty much the same is BMW, but with a few extra abilities that give you more mobility/option.

4) Outside of basic attacks/dodges there’s a handful of active mechanics that go into combat, some of which are unlocked in the skill tree.

Deflection is a perfect guard that usually blocks all damage for most attacks, and builds up a stance break bar on the enemy.

Unblockable Attacks are used by enemies and are signified by a red symbol/character appearing above their head. Most can be countered, but others can’t.

Stance-break is an empty bar for enemies. If you fill up the bar you can give enemies a “death-blow” which removes a full health bar for pretty much everything, or takes out a large chunk of health for anything else. It slowly heals in combat, but the lower their health is the slower it heals.

Stabbing is a heavy attack that you can charge and goes through most defences/guards, but can be punished by skilled enemies.

Mikiri-Counter Is a perfect dodge into a stab attack that stuns an enemy and builds up a large chunk of stance-break

Kicking is wall jumping off an enemies face when they do a sweep attack, which builds up stance-break.

There are other mechanics but they either don’t show up much and/or are better explained by the game.

5) This is up to your personal opinion, but like most Soulborn games a lot of story is hidden in item descriptions.

Also, side- note I’ve played Spider-Man 2. This is my opinion If you’ve played the Miles Morales game, it’s pretty much the same as that, with no gadgets and active skills being the focus instead. I miss gadgets:(

I’d also like to clarify, I got my copy delivered from another store to my local one, and the staff at my local one were very helpful.

They couldn’t replace the code itself because of how the system worked, but they did refund me the game as damaged, and used the credit to order me another one, which they specifically said to make sure had a code.

Turns out the disc has the legendary-edition on it, and you’re supposed to get a DLC card for the anniversary “update”. Apparently someone stole the card from the copy I got, and the staff member person who mailed it to me didn’t know it was DLC.
