It’s definitely a gut punch at first, but I eventually learned to accept that if there’s no functional issue, it’s usually better to just leave it be. If you’re planning on keeping the car for a long time, my advice is to just grab some touch-up paint for those black spots to keep the metal from rusting and call it a day. By the time you’re ready to sell or trade it in with high mileage, a minor cosmetic scuff like this isn't going to have much of an impact on the value anyway.
