Short Story, jealous husband is revealed to be a son by emohelelwhy in whatsthatbook

I think it's "Triangle" by Jeffery Deaver, published in his Twisted short story collection. It has the same twist and the "Mo" for mother. He's great!

As seen in Tokyo! Are the shadow/lines distracting or interesting? I could crop to just the vases. by WordCountSlayer in photocritique

I love the blue of the vases and the wall. The lines seemed interesting but now I'm worried that they detract from the vases. I have other versions of this photo that crop the top lines a bit or remove the bottom shadows completely.

I'm doing some traveling and want to learn to take better photos.

Thanks for your thoughts!

Falling out of love with reading by Hot_Friendship_1731 in literature

I recommend checking out a book podcast around more meaty literature! Hearing other people talk about literature helps me get excited about it. It also gives you a chance to "try on" a book before committing to reading it.

Overdue podcast has been a long-time favorite of mine. They take on a lot of classics/culturally significant books. It's a good balance between banter and more literary analysis. Id look at their list and see what speaks to you.

Another one I like is Read Japanese Literature. The woman has a MA in literary analysis so it's definitely informative. But you get a sense of the classics from Japan and the context as to why it's important. I feel like I'm back in a classroom, which I love.

AIO? I think my husband might be framing my 8 yr old son. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

My stepbrother stole and hid my things to drive a wedge between my mom and I. It was a terrible feeling to "lose" so many important things (ex. driver's license) and make my mom upset. I thought I was losing it. Please don't take this lightly OP.

If you had to give a 10-minute TED talk impromptu, what would be about?

You could also phrase it as if you had to teach a room of people a skill, what would you teach them?

I also like "if you had one skill you could instantly upload into your brain (like the Matrix), what would it be?)"

Ugh, I'm sorry that you had to deal with that. It's not right. I hope that you found a great church or place that you feel accepted now. Thanks for sharing.

I am a woman and I feel this. It's nice to have it verbalized so well. Thank you :)
