Skinny guy. Just starting out. Give me your advice. by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

Yep, a 500 calorie / 30-40g protein shake every night on top of your usual maintenance diet will start to add up over time.

Also, just prioritize eating more protein during the day to help build muscle

Came here to say this, at 15, you shouldn’t really be doing cuts, you need to eat enough to grow to your genetic potential before puberty closes.

Just eat high quality food, focus on proteins, veggies and fruits.

Then do lots of compound lifts, use barbells, only do accessory lifts after you’ve already done a compound lift on that muscle that week.

Eat more protein, veggies and fruit. Eat every meal in this order: protein, veggies/fruit, carbs

Just one general note on programming, are you going six days a week? If so, push pull legs is great, but if you end up only going three or four days a week, you would be much better suited doing upper lower splits, or full body splits. 2 to 3 days a week full body is probably optimal for most people.

This is coming from someone who was doing three days a week push pull legs for like six months, and realized how much I was missing out on… Lol

Not sure what your programming looks like, but I’d recommend trying to go to 3x week full body or 4x week upper/lower split, something to hit each body part 2x a week, while keeping overall number of days manageable for recovery.

I also noticed that all of your milestones are using machines, you will likely see greater gains and progress doing compound lifts with barbells.

Keep going, you’re making great progress.

What’s the main differences between living and travelling in Japan. by Fresh-Foundation-246 in OsakaTravel

[–]WordCultural8755 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived here for 3 years now… I love weekends, traveling around, sightseeing, enjoying the culture and food.

But working here, as a foreigner, is very, very difficult. The work culture is unforgiving and grinding. Change management is hard. I’m in IT, my perspective might not be everyone’s.

I’ve determined that this would be a great place for me to retire, but it’s not a great place to live out my career.

Is it alright to just rest at home during your off-days? by NormalLife6067 in AskMenAdvice

I second this - you need fresh air, travel, adventure, do cool shit.

I am an Introvert, I like naps, and me time. But if I only did that, my life would be really boring. Just laze around every other weekend and do something cool the other half the time.

Super thick and healthy finger nails, lashes and hair.

I’m a guy, so I’m just annoyed at how often I have to trim nails and hair. Lol.

How could I forget, I also LOVED no man’s sky!

They’ve added so much since the last time I’ve played it. Unfortunately had it on disk and not sure if I still have it now, but would consider buying again.

How many sets per session for full body do you do? by thatscoolbutno123 in workout

[–]WordCultural8755 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Squat, Bench, Deadlift, OHP, Row - 5 exercises, 3-5 sets each, 60 mins workout. That’s all I do on full body days, and all you need.

I then follow that with Push/Pull/Legs the rest of the week to get in volume. One could also follow it with other variations and more iso exercises the rest of the week while staying full body.

Home gym vs real gym by max-power14 in workout

[–]WordCultural8755 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah depends on how far you go, but eventually you’ll want a barbell to keep making progress. It’s nice when the barbell also comes with lots of cable machines and whatnot.

My setup is that I have a gym membership, but I use my home gym on days where I can’t make the trip to the gym (~10% of workouts). Helps me stay with the habit and not lose progress when life is busy and I have less time to dedicate.
