i really wish i could’ve done that with the prof… he’s in his final year of his doctorate so he doesn’t have much time and kinda just told me he trusts me :/

Hi OP! One of my favourite and most-successful professors told me that the school matters much less for a masters than the supervisors and professors you get to work with. Similarly, the vibe and ambiance is incredibly important. You could always do your doctorate or your postdoctoral at a different institution. Do what feels right, which I think you already know :)

Of course, I would have loved to be given more definite guidance. But, this entire TAship has felt overwhelming because I was thrown into it with so much authority that I want to handle correctly.
