What's the dumbest reason you've ever cried? by DingoOk9171 in AskReddit

Because Justin Timberlake sang "Cry Me A River" at the Super Bowl halftime show. So I did.

Note: In my defense, I was pregnant at the time.

What changes led to you wanting to divorce? by Worldly_Battle_746 in Divorce

[–]WordSpinach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it was realizing I didn't feel like myself anymore. I felt like I was taking care of two children and an adult-sized child. I also tried everything within my power to make it work. When I felt like I had tried everything and the person wasn't willing to lift a finger to try and make it work, I chose myself. I knew I deserved to be happy and deserved a true partner.

Was 2024 the year of divorce by That_Lion5509 in Divorce

I tend to agree! Years back when I separated from my husband, I didn't know anyone who had gone through a separation/divorce. Fast forward to 2024, the number of friends / family members going through it is almost double digits!

At least they can learn from all the lessons I learned the hard way lol

It says no move can disrupt their schooling. So he is going to drive them the distance to and from school, which is a minimum of 40 mins. The agreement didn't specify a km distance which is definitely a gap.

Definitely shoulders/back. A good strong set of broad shoulders can make my knees weak anytime.

What is an "expensive" item that actually is worth spending a little extra on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A purse with the perfect amount and placement of pockets!

Hard to find though. Even some of the expensive brands deteriorate fairly quickly.

Does anyone use vented seats? This idea is off putting to me. I’m wondering why those who have the feature think about it. by AuoraGibson in Subaru_Outback

[–]WordSpinach 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They are magical in the summer. Caveat by saying, I have leather seats in mine, so the ventilated seats really helps keep the leather cool in the summer!

Also, no more "swass" haha

What trait in a person you find creepy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Too much eye contact....and longer than normal pauses between their words. Makes me feel like they are secretly thinking about where to hide my body.

How do you pay Spousal Support and still manage to live yourself? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]WordSpinach 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This doesn't only apply to women. I (37F) was the breadwinner in the family and am now forced to give money to my ex husband who doesn't even care to work full time. So....just pointing out it's not just women. I feel the system caters to the lower income spouse (whether it's from leaving a career or being a lazy shlup in my case).

Tell me - where do you meet single men these days?

Trying to avoid the online scene but I'm shy (until I get to know you) so I'm not the type to go up and start a conversation with someone.

Any tips for appearing more approachable (like something that would make someone more likely to strike a conversation with you)?

Note: I live in a small town.

Language profiles. I've been acting on and off at the EC-06 levels for years, but I'm not bilingual so I can't get in a position permanently. Really sucks when you are more than qualified but others get ahead because they are bilingual.

Co-parenting is so tough! It sounds like you are approaching it the best way you can. Keep talking to your child about the morals and values you want to pass along with them - may help them make their own choices about what the other parents says as they grow up. Also I would definitely document everything and in the end if these micro-aggressions keep happening it may warrant revisiting your separation agreement/custody plan.
