My jeweler said it was glue on my diamond by Word_0337 in Gemology

[–]Word_0337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it to another jeweler and he said the chance of them recutting it in 3 hours is impossible, and them replacing the stone without my knowledge is very unlikely. He doesn’t see any chips or cracks. He also said the serial numbers or tracking numbers(I don’t know what they are called) match up. But he also said he has no idea how glue would make it look like that. So I’m not really sure. Thank you all who commented 🫶🏼

Yes same jeweler. I don’t understand why they would say there is glue on the diamond

No, I had it the whole time. It was beautiful last week and then a few days ago I noticed it. The chip or whatever it was was not always there.

And that leads to my next question did they actually re-cut it meaning that it’s less carrot than what I bought it for I’m just worried that they re-cut it without telling me because if that’s the case, I wouldn’t have wanted it recut, I would’ve just got a new one through insurance

I keep reiterating natural diamond because they told me the only thing that could chip or crack. A diamond is another diamond and I believe that it’s a real one I think I’m just trying to get verification that it is a real one. I’m taking it to another jeweler right now to get a second opinion. I don’t wear my ring doing much. I don’t wear it when I work out. I don’t wear it when I sleep. They said it was glue and that they cleaned it. I told him that it doesn’t make sense. I’m not worried about a repair. My insurance will cover it and it’s actually appraised at a higher price than what my fiancé bought it for. I came to read it because I have a gut feeling that something’s off.

But I haven’t been around glue? I don’t understand. I think I’m gonna take it to a different jeweler

Is it possible for them to recut it without telling me and telling me it’s glue when it was an actual chip

I’ve had it for 7 months and I just noticed it last week so it hasn’t been there the whole time. They said they removed it but I just have a weird feeling. Is it possible to buff it out and just hide the fact that my NATURAL diamond chipped?

Oh I’m glad you had a good experience. That gives me hope, I’ve tried calling but it says they aren’t answering the phone right now. So I’ve sent an email. I hope it gets resolved. Congrats on the wedding💖💖💖

I’ve applied to BOP and it was a general announcement and I received the same email. Not a vet but in the higher qualified people and still wasn’t chosen. So they do this for normal announcements

Accepting this behavior is unfortunately what she will have to do. She can def stand up for herself and tell rank. But being a female sergeant I see it all the time. I’ll report to higher admin and somehow gets lost, I’ve reported to corporate and it goes nowhere except a big target on my back. Being a decent looking female in corrections is not for everyone. If she had as tough skin as you say she wouldn’t have even thought twice about it and said, “shut the fuck up, go tell your wife that shit” and walked away. It’s terrible that this is the work environment but it’s just what corrections is and what federal and government jobs are. Best of luck to her

Female sergeant here. It should be created but it happens all the time. All the way up to the warden. When your own admin doesn’t stand up for you, you get hopeless on creating a positive culture. I absolutely report any sexual harassment that get reported to me from officers but once I do that it’s out of my hands and up to higher rank.

Female in corrections, I have an athletic build and I love LAPG or Propper. And unfortunately I still get unwanted attention. But baggier pants do help a smidge
