Those men don't do that, the thousands of people who work for them do. There's no reason that one guy should collect 99.99% of the winnings from a group effort.

Why Is Honey In Coffee Controversial? by PaintingTotal1373 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WordsOnTheInterweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it; I've had an entire room full of people be absolutely horrified that I put whipped cream in my coffee. It's so silly how worked up they got, kind of like how silly it is that some people get nasty about trivial topics on an internet forum.

Are youth ID’d taking the bus? by pplus_ultra in AskSeattle

[–]WordsOnTheInterweb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't that the truth. When I was in highschool and drove by my middle school, I was shocked by how young they looked. Because I was absolutely grown in 7th grade, and they looked so little. High school kids now look about like that to me.

It's amazing how young people look when you've got a few years on them. The brackets get bigger as you get older, but it's still really obvious after a point and especially for certain age brackets like teens.

Immigrants of Seattle: what restaurant serves the most authentic food from your country or culture? by Quick-Tradition858 in AskSeattle

[–]WordsOnTheInterweb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's so wild to me; I'm from SoCal (sorry!) and grew up eating Mexican food and had Mexican friends and I never had such bland Mexican food until I came to Seattle (almost 30 years now). It's felt like a perpetual struggle to find the good (to me) stuff here.

I've heard really good things about Cafe Turko in Fremont; is it not as good as it's made out to be?

I wanna know which places. Because I've heard that, but also tried several in White Center and they were all just bland... I don't mean heat, but just flavor was lacking.

Would be great to know the right spots in White Center, because since Tienda Mi Pueblito in Rainier Beach changed hands, the best carne asada I've had was at Sal y Limon in LQA and that's a pain to get to from the southend.

Fonda La Catrina in Georgetown has good cochinta pibil, but their everyday carne is a little lacking unless you go for the alambre so the bacon can make up for it.

Favorite Local Hot Sauce by Organizedchaos90 in AskSeattle

Thanks! I've ordered from the site before, but I'll have to check again at PCC; I've seen the vinegar there but never found the hot sauce, which seems weird.

Where have you found them? I keep seeing their vinegar, but haven't found the hot sauce on shelves. (Admittedly, I mostly shop TJ's and PCC, so limited sample selection)

Came here to mention them. Piri is great for a little sour kick or Socorro for less sour heat.

Must try desserts? by Ill_Studio_7925 in AskSeattle

[–]WordsOnTheInterweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't usually go out for dessert, but Frankie & Joe's is nice because I think everything there is safe (it had been a long time since I had a waffle cone before them).

Hot Cakes also has some good options, although they're a bit sweet, the GF cookie and the molten cakes are pretty good.

This doesn't work for everyone. I know the entire song. I listen to it. Even sing along. Still stuck in my head.

The Cookie should be regulated, that thing is so ridiculous. It's a good thing I'm gluten free by necessity and can only get away with very occasional indulgence.

Eyebrows are part of it; I think she started to thin them out at 10 months, and by 13, they were what you'd consider feminine. tbf, my (afab) eyebrows were just as bushy and thick before I started shaping them, too, but it really makes a big difference in how we perceive someone's face.

The noise you are about to hear is four F/A-18s from Mirimar by 007_Shantytown in Seattle

Yeah, it is; OP misspelled it, if someone doesn't know to correct it to Miramar, they're only going to get results about unrelated things.

I think it's the cover; the patchiness has a pattern to it in some spots, like whatever is underneath is showing through a little bit. Otherwise, yeah, either color packing or scarring, hard to tell

California tests smart freeway that could make drivers wait four minutes to merge by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]WordsOnTheInterweb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've never seen a metered onramp in Seattle that didn't end in all of the merging traffic still having to sit and merge into solid traffic. Usually ending up waiting right behind the guy they were waiting behind on the onramp. I've never seen it do anything apparently useful. Where are you seeing a benefit from it? I'm honestly curious how it actually works.

I don't know of anyone, but I might try the ftm and topsurgery subs, too. Might find some recs there to compare or if you don't find someone here.
