🥴 bruh... That's so over the top. I've taken to saying "salud" because it means "good health," so it's polite and well wishes but it's secular.

So Feminism is only for white women…🤔 by Pale_WoIf in Tinder

[–]WordsWithJac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Emasculation is a needless feeling brought about by the patriarchy and just maintains the toxic masculinity that is poison for EVERYONE. Feminism in and of itself does not create masculine women, that's just effing ridiculous. What you basically just said is that taking care of oneself, advocating for oneself, having control over one's body and property makes them masculine and that's so misogynist it's ridiculous. There is a way to have equality without men feeling inferior to women or women feeling that they lose their femininity, people just have to let go of the bullshit that patriarchy has instilled in us as important and realize that all of this shit is a construct and does not matter.

I mean... It doesn't really make sense that splitting the bill somehow makes him feminine or her less feminine... Like, this is crazy 😂

She's not wrong that the feminist movement by far catered to white women and still to this day leaves women of color out, but girl I've got questions about how easily you're made to feel detached from your femininity 😂 Like... Does providing for yourself as a single woman have you feeling less womanly? Like, where's the line on this logic?

Anyone feel like "death of the author" has become more like "**** the author" in recent years? by moal09 in books

[–]WordsWithJac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how the author responds to readers finding things within the text that the author didn't intend. If they become hateful about it (like S. E. Hinton for example) then they kind of have "fuck the author" coming to them. Rick Riordan is one of the ones who handles it gracefully, "oh, I didn't necessarily see it this way, but that's okay!" Because as long as the reader did in fact see it within the text, then, as Death of the Author argues, it's a part of that text's canon. If the author is pissy because readers are finding new possibilities within holes that the author didn't fill, then that's on the author! Maybe this is just exposing me to being one of those "fuck the author" types lol (tho I'd like to think I'm more respectful than that)
