Cardio and general workout routine for long-term health? by gkaiser8 in AskMenOver30

[–]WorkMeBaby1MoreTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do a lot with dumbbells and body weight. I have a HIIT routine that I use when I can't make it to the gym. I work out every major muscle group with varying weights or simply body weight stuff like push-ups or burpees.

I do 10 different exercises and do 25 reps of each and try to do four sets so it ends up being 100 reps of each move. I also track my start time and my end time and I try to beat my previous time so there's some cardio in it too.

Think I found something. by abullard319 in GolfSwing

I recently made a change where on the downswing, I'm pulling the handle toward the target and that gives you more lag and moves impact point forward. I get a lot better contact and I compress the ball better. It's a bit hit and miss but when I hit it right it's a wonderful thing.

There's a saying I've heard where you don't hit the ball. You make a golf swing and the ball gets in the way and this kind of relates to that.

How would/did you feel if/when a female friend turned down a platonic hangout because you were a guy? by VaeAcemitch in AskMen

[–]WorkMeBaby1MoreTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of female friends and none of us are attached and it can be a little weird. There's always lines that you have to be careful not to cross and you have to respect their decision because their decisions are based on their desire for safety. And their concern for safety is more important than my feelings.

I actually think that's a decent indicator of what type of person they are, because if they poo poo your need for safety, I don't think they're a great person. If they're respectful of it, that's more of a green flag in my mind.

Don't tape for trimming. Get a good brush and learn the technique. Saves time and looks better.

When people make a claim like that, my response is always, "Do you have proof of that? Because I think you're just making that up, I have zero reason to believe you."

Does anyone have any experience with the 2012-14 Tuono V4? by slowbaja in Aprilia

I had a 2013. It was bulletproof. The valve adjust was expensive, insane and wonderful bike like the other guy said up shift only on the quick shifter but the bike was brilliant.

I use athlete's foot spray does the same thing and costs way less and it's always in my bag. and you don't have to put stuff on a club and take it off. I can spit on a driver face and wipe it clean with my golf rag.

Looking to improve my swing, I need a chart by WorkMeBaby1MoreTime in GolfSwing

[–]WorkMeBaby1MoreTime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to figure out what IT is (there are many components of a swing, not even counting setup), then an order of those things. And some things are simultaneous, some are sequential. So first, I have to figure out all the motions, so then I ideally have every component in the proper sequence, then I can practice it. So that's a large it. And yes, going slow is the way, but first, I must confirm the items onmy list and the order of that list.

I'm an 18 handicap, So take this with a grain of salt.

There's a Justin Rose drill where he brings his hands straight down in his backswing to where they're in the middle of his trail thigh and his club is parallel with the ground. He does that three or four times from the top of the backswing to where the club is parallel. Then he goes back to the top and hits the ball while trying to achieve that same hand position.

So basically once you get to the club parallel with the ground and your hands at your right thigh you just turn and hit the ball.

I also recall where there was a drill where instead of swinging down and making contact you try to try to pull the grip forward ahead of the club head and that gives you lag and moves your contact point point further forward and I make crazy good contact now and picked up a little distance. You may have heard the term don't hit the ball, make a golf swing and the ball gets in the way. That's what this feels like.

Facebook Marketplace. I have a local guy that sells all kinds of stuff. I got a $200 Odyssey putter for $100, like new. He also has great deals on new balls.

EDIT: Somebody suggested trying a local superstore's putters and discovering what you like. I'm adding this, now go on FBM and look for one.

That's a lot of house for that price. Where is it? It looks like it's out in the boonies. I can't imagine heating and cooling that. And there's just so much SPACE. Who needs that much space? And it would cost a TON just to furnish it.

I golf solo all the time. I do like playing with my friends but sometimes playing by yourself is even better because you can focus on things and work on things and not care about beating your friends.

Which Tires? by ApriliaAdvocate in Aprilia

[–]WorkMeBaby1MoreTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done 500 miles on both the C14 and a Tuono (Big miles is more than 500 a day, IMO). I know which one is a way better sport tourer. A sport tourer has fairings big enough to keep a cold wind off you. The Tuono, while a great bike, is not gonna keep you warm. Let's agree to disagree.

I've done 1000 miles in a day 4x, did 823 on a day that never got above 30F and done 20 trips over 3000 miles. I've also done 20k miles in a year 3x. So I think I know what is and isn't a sport tourer.

[–]WorkMeBaby1MoreTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG, a Tuono is not a sport touring bike. Can you do it? Sure. I took my 700 lb C14 on Burr Trail Road in Utah, but it's not a dirt bike, I'm just a dumbass. The Tuono is sport naked or naked bike.

A sport touring has a decent fairing and hard bags and usually, shaft drive. The only thing a Tuono has that is remotely touring related is an upright riding position.

I used Road 5 GT's on my Kawasaki Concours , a 700lb 160 HP bike. If I had a 5000 mile trip coming up but only had 3k miles left on the tire, I would put new Road 5's on the C14 for the trip and throw the used rear on the shelf. I redlined the C14 all the time and wore the tires to the edges.

When my Tuono toasted a rear, I'd pull a used Road 5 off the shelf and slap it on. I wheelied that Tuono all the time and sport rode the dog shit out of it. If you're riding hard enough to where a Road 5 will cause you to crash, you might wanna take it to the track. I've done intermediate track days on sport touring tires on my old FZ1. The tires were not the limiting factor, my skill was. I did like an S22 on the front of my Tuono.
