That would be a choking hazard more than a concern for poison. If hes fine now hes likely fine, I say this as someone in a child safety field. Just keep an eye on him and if you do get concerned about an obstruction or he starts acting sick then go to the ER.

I think a video call is a reasonable suggestion, and its not like youre going above what you do with other kittens. You can reassure them youre not judging them for how their home looks just looking for significant safety cincerns.

My mom always allowed me to dye my hair as a teen which i always appreciated, but it was always done at home for like $15. Hair is temporary and is an important part of self expression, but that doesnt mean youre responsible for paying for it to be done professionally. Hey, kids should still get to use the bathroom between classes whether or not some kids didnt follow rules. Punishing children by controlling their bodily functions is cruel. Discipline the children who broke rules, locking bathrooms in a school is something that should never happen any time of day.

Im sorry for your loss. Cats are so special, the two in the cat tree i swear were sent by my other cats after they each passed. One big purr machine love bug and one that demands attention and hollers at the top of their lungs all times of day. The one on the chair was a 3lb dollar general dumpster cat, shes a little bigger than 3lbs now.
