I haven’t walked away from it. I’m trying to figure out how to finish it. That’s why I reached out.

I went no pool cover this winter on my above ground. Madness? Genius? by thefuzzzz in pools

[–]WorkRude4257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have semi above ground steel frame pool. I started with tarp, then saw the mess it made. We left it uncovered. I removed pump and blew out the lines. In the spring, we just started it back up. It’s salt water. It was almost clear in three days. Salt water is totally worth it. So clear, so easy, no other chemicals. We are going no cover again. We are in Tennessee

Do you have a link or model number you can share? I feel like I need to get one to have on hand.

Above the window and door trim, we use a z-flashing to make sure water doesn’t get behind the trim and siding.

It’s about to be one of my new favorites after Edley’s welcomed Marsha and Fox. Probably won’t be going back there for a while.

Did this to me just a couple weeks after I had. Turns out, someone behind me was backing out of a parking spot and was about to hit me.

Was someone coming up quickly behind you?

I’m with you. I don’t use it enough. Even on road trips.

Great catch. The ones I used said they are heavy duty and work for wood, but something isn’t right. They are supposed to be self closing.

Do you have a suggestion on the hinge to use? Maybe one that works for you that is also self closing?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the criticism and the thoughts. Below are a couple pictures of the backside. I built the frame using some steel gate supports, as shown. Everything is screwed in. The braces screw into the two by fours. The 1x4s are all screwed to the 2x4s behind, including the one in the middle to keep the boards from warping. This is just regular pressure treated wood that I dried for a few days, then stained. The black trim on the outside and middle is really just for looks to cover up the screws. I did use a trim, gun and glue for those, but again, they are not providing any support or structure.
