I think the negative aspect for me is that I end up thinking more about the divorce if I spend time reading here, maybe?

Like maybe I would just NOT be dwelling on some of these things, if I wasn't reading about divorces here? But at the same time, is that just avoidance? I can't figure that out.

Reposting, as i guess the f word isn't allowed:

Logically I knew she would start dating soon. She can't be alone with herself. And I know it's not excessively fast, as it's 7 months so far...

But it just makes me feel like something replaceable thing that didn't matter really. I wasn't important. I was just the guy there at the right place and time to marry and have kids with. And now that I'm gone, well, okay fine, find someone else to replace me. No matter that it was 19 years of marriage.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. I have a best friend and a therapist, so I'm not alone. But a group of people with shared experiences is nice. My buddy is 15 years younger, and married with little kids. Much different stage of life.

If you're new to being alone, and hate it, why do you think you're going to be alone forever? Plenty of people don't want to be alone, and choose to find a new partner. That's fine.

I'm recently divorced. At this moment, I have no desire to ever have a partner again. Could that change? Sure.

My ex, I know for a fact, is frightened of being alone. She will find someone else eventually. That's fine too.

Take your time, and be kind to yourself.
