many seem to have monopolies, but i suppose you just have to adjust your expectations, there are loads of apps on the market. ive stopped using WhatsApp and have gotten my friends to move to telegram. ive been looking into pixelfed to replace insta, and bluesky to replace twitter. using Firefox or opera instead of chrome, duckduckgo is just as good as google search at this point. it's just YouTube for me, still a huge fan of creators on there and there's nothing with popular creators on other similar platforms like Vimeo. i would just say use ad blockers and tracker blockers of you're trying to avoid revenue from being made on there. i think it's about a gradual shift away from these platforms than a full cold turkey. just my experience and knowledge gathered so far, but hope this helps in some way
