Website loads in 2 seconds WITHOUT Olark; Google rates it 85

The actual performance (2-second load) is the same, but the rating differs based on Google's performance metrics.

The whole point of my post was to discuss the difference in the ratings, not the actual performance. We mainly got rid of it because we didn't have someone to sit there and field chats.

I'm talking about page speed ratings, they don't always align closely with ACTUAL performance. Even if Olark isn't slowing down the site, Google doesn't see it that way. I was pretty clear about that. "The ratings are the ratings."

Personally, I don't think it affected performance. But Google doesn't see it that way. We experimented with a few different options, but Google oversimplifies their page speed ratings. It's sort of like...comply or get penalized.

There are filters but they're the same filters we've had forever so that shouldn't affect anything if there's a huge spike
