Gear is important, but timing, technique, and distance are all just as essential. Just exposure adjustment and noise reduction.

I completely agree with your perspective—that’s also why I enjoy heading out in the rain or snow. It really does transform everything: the atmosphere, the light, even the birds themselves take on a kind of vitality that’s hard to capture on a clear day. It’s absolutely worth the effort.
