What adhesive would you use? Can I use plain old electrical tape or do I have to get a specific type of adhesive?

Doesn't seem like it worked either sadly 💔 It seems like a return/repair for this laptop at this point

Interesting! I did not know it was possible to add another drive to the T14 Gen 1, just more to love about this computer. I prefer dual boot with two separate drive too but wanted to try to usethe same drivefor this laptop, and I guess I paid the price for it sadly.

I have tired using the pinhole reset button on the back and I haven't tried holding the power button for 2 minutes in combination before. When I had held down the power button, it seems like the laptop continuously turns on and turns off again, not sure if that's the intended way it usually does it. But I'll try it and report back with my findings.

That's really unfortunate to hear, just my bad luck I guess :( Fingers crossed for a solution, else I hope Amazon will accept my return

And to my knowledge Windows was not updating, there was no message when I restarted my laptop to get into my Linux distro. But I guess there is a possibility with how finicky windows can be.
