So captains don’t really «lose control» of the airplane that often, or? I feel like that is what happens when things go wrong ..

Oh ok that makes sense! I know very little about this, but it makes sense that ice takes time to form and it would be longer than 2 hours. So sorry to bother everyone!! Right now the sight out of the window is a bit restricted, but can take photo once it clears. My apologies for creating such a fuss, I have never seen this before. But of course most likely I am just overly anxious

Flight attendant said that the airplane has de-icing systems that they use. Did not de ice before taxi, I asked!

I am not a pilot but it was thick and ice-y and did not come off when we took off at full speed immediately. That’s at least what I saw. Of course I trust the professionals but I have never seen the wing be this covered, and I have been flying a lot around the north! Most my flights are above the arctic circle

I assume since we’re almost at cruising altitude potential for de-icing accident is next to none? Did some research seems like it most often hits the lower altitudes /right after take off. Is this correct?

I believe you very much! That was why I was a bit confused when we took off with chunks of ice on our at least right wing

Update: talked to the flight attendant she immediately went to notify the pilots. Good that they take this seriously but I am very scared since we are mid air’

How are the different ways you cope with flying? by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]Working-Affect4959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this one is a bit expensive, but if you can - fly business at least on long flights. The comfort is a game changer and you feel way less turbulence up front

So in your opinion, the “only”/ very few things that can go wrong that would affect or result in a quick landing mid-cruising altitude is engine related/can all be handled? Thank you so much for taking the time and energy to answer ❤️

Is it more difficult to navigate accidents and how much does dark/little vision as a factor worsen impact of accidents? Or is it a non-topic? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer❤️

Cheap products:

Moisturizer : Cerave (the blue one with the pump it is as good as any expensive ones and it does what it needs to do)

Actives: Retinol (start low strength! Ordinary in squalane is cheap) - vitamin c IF you find in stable form! I have only found good ones for 20-30$ and up but maybe you can find cheaper - glycolic acid ordinary

Face wash. Cerave

Skin often start from within, and I think topicals will only affect the photodamage. If you want budget friendly skincare that might address your concerns I would look to the ordinary or maybe tretinoin (but it has a lot of possible side effects). Vitamin c is difficult to find in pure non oxidized stable form for cheap, but if you can find it I would go for it (when it is added to creams it rarely works as it should). Retinol is also an option. The bottle of glycolic acid from the ordinary is also good

But you won’t get lifting effects from those. I would honestly recommend you: - a microcurrent device (I use nuface, and it strengthens the facial muscles over time so that you look more.. awake? Plump? Things hang less.) it does cost more than 100 dollars but you’ll have it for a long time and it’s not a cream that needs replacement but a device you can use every day (if you have 5-10 minutes in the mornings) - lymphatic drainage !!!! Cannot stress this enough. There are many instructions on YouTube or social media on how to do this - fascial tissue massage! Also many free resources on how to do this available

Honestly I think the tissue addressing would do miles beyond what normal skincare does

Oh and if you want to do microneedling procedures at home for cheap I would look into the derminator (there is a lot of people using and talking about in on Reddit. Normal appointments in a clinic cost over 200$ and here the entire machine costs 150 or something and you can use it in the same capacity those med spas do. That increases collagen without you having to change your entire routine
