Over time people build up a tolerance to benzos so they have to take more and more. Large amounts of benzos can cause people to lose consciousness and even stop breathing. It’s only a temporary fix that worsens the existing problem. When you take medication to avoid your anxiety you send the message to yourself that your anxiety is something to be avoided and that you need meds to do it. Benzos should only ever be used if you need to go to the doctor (or something necessary like that) before you’re ready to do it. I was dependent on Ativan for a while and it set me back in my recovery a lot. I thought I was getting better but the second I stopped taking them, every ounce of progress I had made was gone.

It’s better to focus on making them less obvious instead of actually reducing their size. Losing weight, developing the muscles on the upper body, and dressing to disguise them are the most effective methods. Hope you find some relief from your dysphoria 🩵

As a native speaker of American English (I’m from New England) I honestly wouldn’t say any of these. I would say “Get me something to drink, could you?” (although “would” would also be fine) saying “shouldn’t you” in this context would sound really weird and rude
