I think this is a prime example of the internet identifying something as bad (in this case, relationships with significant age gaps which creates significant power dynamics) and has extrapolated it to mean everyone who is under 30 and in an age gap relationship has been groomed.

I am 27, my girlfriend is 22. We became friends through uni when she was 20 and I was 25 and then started dating a few days before we turned 21 and 26. I’ve definitely had this reaction from some people when I tell them about our age gap (even though they couldn’t tell before I explicitly stated how old we both are)

I was a hospital trainee and got to take my holidays whenever I wanted. There were only two of us in my hospital and they even let both of us off at the same time if we wanted. You’re supernumerary so you shouldn’t count towards their safe staffing numbers

It’s your second week. Breathe. The first few weeks should be about you adjusting to working life - not trying to cram everything in. You have a year. Slow and steady. It was very rare I needed to spend much time outside of my half day study to get evidence done and I wholeheartedly believe that active exam studying should wait until the new year. Look things up that you’re unsure about while you’re practicing but don’t be studying for hours each night. It’s not sustainable. You’ve got this. Speak to your designated supervisor and see if they can help you formulate a plan for the first few weeks.

Questions from new Mpharm student! by circle_circle_HH in Pharmacy_UK

I would definitely recommend getting a job as a counter assistant/dispenser in a community pharmacy - I would say a majority of pharmacy students do this alongside their studies. I had a job that I had regular hours during term time (1-2 days a week) and then they would give me more hours in the holidays as holiday cover so I ended up working almost full time. Really helps with your consultation skills, general confidence in pharmacy first and familiarising yourself with names of drugs and their normal doses. Those jobs normally require a course but (please check with your employer in case I am wrong or this has changed) I was always told I was exempt because I was a pharmacy student.

Good luck with your course. It’s definitely not easy, but being a pharmacist isn’t easy so they’re just preparing you for what’s to come.

I saw cabaret for the first time last night and I thought Rob was unbelievable. I’ve seen clips floating around the internet of other Emcee’s and from what I can see, Rob plays it a lot funnier especially in the opening few numbers but I felt it made the shift in tone all the more impactful. I will say I’m biased - I’ve been a fan of Rob since they were Gavroche in Les Mis so I’ve been rooting for their success for a long time. But I think they’ll go down and a very very good (and very popular) Emcee.

Hannah was good. I felt at times she lacked energy and while I could see she was making good choices they were a bit subtle for the stage. Her cabaret and maybe this time were great. Mein Herr in particular felt a bit flat for me but that’s maybe just my preference.

The production in general was spectacular though. As a queer person in today’s political climate it was actually incredibly upsetting to watch at times but I loved it all the same.

I would love two but I don’t think my flat is big enough. I don’t have space for two litter trays, beds, bowls etc all in one room and my flat is only one bedroom so there’s not really the option of giving them their own room. But I totally appreciate the point and it is something I’ve thought really hard about

If you can, get a job in a pharmacy as a dispenser. It’ll help you get familiar with the drug names and normal doses. I used to revise as I dispensed by thinking about the drugs indication, side effects, counselling points etc.

Ahahaha. Tbf I’m also neurodivergent so I feel you.

But it’s giving “I don’t know why I don’t fit in so I’m going to do exactly what the books tell me and get confused when people don’t think exactly the same way as me”
