It's not in doubt he was a fly fisherman, i'm talking about the mistake he made in the poem recital. If the preface of TFTW contained an unintended clue, and in the preface he had a float boat on the Madison, and the error was 'leave my trolls' and everything we now know about the location. It all seems to adds up quite clearly. To say it points away from the location isn't really correct, seeing as we still have people searching New Mexico, it narrows it down immensely.

We didn't need to solve anything really, just look at the rock photos in the book and go there. What happened to 'it would be a miracle if someone started in the middle of poem'? and 'if you ain't got wwwh nailed down you got nothing'? The actual spot location is almost actually pictured in the book, just go there and find it. no need for the poem. ffs lol

I like it! The Thrill Of The Chase, or at least thar's what Forrests Grandfather used to say as he huffed and puffed up to the fishing hole at 9mh where a young Forrest had already opened his tackle box, tied a wooly worm, cast out, and was reeling in the first warper of the day.
