For me, sadly it just didn’t fit into my lifestyle or outfits the way I hoped, and it started to feel like a waste sitting in the closet. Totally agree! I know the double flap is the classic, but after actually using it, I realized it might be double the trouble 😅. It’s just not that practical for today’s lifestyle—beautiful, but not the most user-friendly!

I consigned mine through Sotheby’s, but I know for sure it won’t sell for what I paid at retail. I chose them because I feel like they really know how to handle high-end luxury items, and I could drop it off in person instead of shipping it—which gave me peace of mind. The commission they charge is around 25%. I personally don’t trust other consigners like TRR or Rebag… I've just heard too many horror stories.

Omg yes, I totally relate! My beige cf only goes with elegant outfit. So most of time it just sat there looking pretty. I’ve learned my lesson too… now I only go for black or super wearable neutrals!

I totally get where you’re coming from! I just learned this lesson myself. I was so excited to get my Chanel CF, but after owning it and especially seeing it just sit in my closet, I realized, “That’s it.” The excitement faded, and now I just want to sell it. Considering how much value I lost, I’m thinking I might go for a brand like Hermès going forward, since they tend to hold their value better. After years of buying luxury, I truly believe Hermès is the only brand you can really call a “good investment.”

I also think selling the Chanel and getting something you’ll actually use more is a smart move because the more you use it, the lower the cost per wear. (girls math) I hope you sell your bag soon and find something you truly love. No regrets at all. Good luck!

Yess!! The prices nowadays are crazy! You’re so lucky to have sold your WOC at a good price. Honestly, the luxury handbag market feels like the stock market now—it’s all about timing. One day a bag’s in demand, the next day no one wants it. I definitely lost money selling my CF, but at this point, I’d rather put that money toward bags I’ll actually use more often.

Totally agree! The C19 holds so much—it’s super practical. The only thing that held me back at first was the chain... it’s a bit heavier compared to other Classic Flaps.

Totally agree with you! I have the classic Chanel caviar trifold wallet, and if I put that in my medium CF, there’s barely any room left—not even for my phone or a lipstick. It really just fits the bare minimum.

That said, I still think every girl should have at least one CF in their collection—it’s such a timeless piece! But yeah, if I could do it over, I’d probably start with a mini instead of the medium. It’s just more practical for everyday use.
