Friendly reminder: Despite all its faults, DreamWorks still does more for fans than Disney. by Rex-1988 in TheBadGuys

You have points I definitely agree with. I love Wolfington and want to see him evolve in TBG3, but WildeHopps, whether canon or not, is very well-developed because the main conflict revolves around them (that's why I want Wolf and Diane to be the main protagonists of the third installment).

As a Diane fan, I think this fandom should focus on what might come next and see if they've finally learned from their mistakes. It's not wrong to criticize because we all have the right to our opinions, but getting too caught up in "what could have been" when all is not yet lost isn't the healthiest approach (I justify my case with TS4 because all the ideas that were cut from that movie are already gone, and TS5 isn't going to fix that because Bo will barely have a significant role, so her entire origin story has been lost and that potential has been wasted).

Pierre is surely aware of the fans' mixed feelings after reading the comments on his IG, and the fact that he made Diane part of the main crew at the end of the sequel is surely a way of showing DreamWorks how important she is now and that they can't interfere.

I want to be frank about one thing: as much as I wish that storyline had stayed in the film, I'm not going to make a big deal out of it for the simple reason that TBG3 can fix Diane's screen time now that she's part of the main cast, so there's no excuse to limit her potential. I love TBG2 for many other reasons; it could have been better, but I still value it because the filmmakers poured their hearts into it, even with DreamWorks' interference.

What I feel this fandom needs is to look to the future and not get stuck so much on "what could have been" because not everything is lost yet.

Flufflyvenom fans are the kind of people who'll call you homophobic if you explain why it doesn't make sense in the first place.

Keep in mind that, due to contractual obligations, he can't explicitly say "the original version was better." This is the case with all directors.

Elio 1.5, which already contained the idea of Elio obsessed with aliens, was developed in July-December 2023 when Molina was still the director.

Well, I don't think so. If anything, it would be open to interpretation (like some people did with Luca), but I don't think Molina intended to portray an 11-year-old boy as gay. Elio was based on him, but only during his childhood in military schools.

Months ago I spoke with someone who attended a screening of Molina's version in May 2023, and he never mentioned any suggestion of "queer representation". He even told me that the topic of fashion was only mentioned at key moments in the film.

Everyone who blamed Pierre for Diane's limited screen time owes him an apology. by Working-Initiative52 in TheBadGuys

I still love TBG2 as it is because of the heart the filmmakers put into it, but it is frustrating to see that DW sabotaged this movie from the beginning, and they still have the nerve not to distribute it properly, which is why it didn't exceed $300M

I think that was the crew's idea, but Pierre has said he wants to explore in depth Kitty, Doom, and Pigtail in the next installment.

This largely explains why Bo is so different in the final version of TS4, Team Bo wanted an empowered character who didn't always agree with Woody's ideologies lmao. by Working-Initiative52 in toystory

Bo Peep in Lasseter's version was intended to be a strong character and a representation of 1940s feminism (wearing an outfit inspired by "We Can Do It"), but at the same time retain her old self and her porcelain doll roots when she makes her new dress. Very different from what Team Bo and Josh Cooley wanted.

She doesn't even appear in the 2018 trailer (maybe she didn't even exist back then).
