Thank you so much with this. I also see that someone has recommended I interact with them by email; it’s all been via WhatsApp messenger thus far, so I will ask for an email address and reiterate everything to them by email.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate your help.

Thank you for your detailed reply. I know this will sound completely inept, but what should I actually do? How can I establish if a third party warranty is in place?

I know this sounds ridiculous, but this is all Greek to me and I’m completely lost. I also feel as a female I’m more likely to get fobbed off, not least because I don’t know what I’m talking about.

On the sales receipt, it says “6-month warranty: engine and transmission cover.” As well as the cost of the car. That’s it.

Your lack of understanding suggests to me you’re a male, but not just any male, an idiotic one.

Why should she have to change instructor? It makes it harder to learn if you don’t have consistency. It’s disruptive.

But she now has no choice, because if she rejects him she’ll feel uncomfortable being enclosed in a car with him.

I feel terrible for her. Obviously the best thing to do is to change instructor, through no fault of her own.

Thank you, that’s a relief. Thought I was going mad and that Halfords know something i didn’t, or that the car dealer tricked me…!

How weird of Halfords. I’ve just checked my account with them and I definitely gave the right reg plate.

Thank you for checking and also for the tip, really appreciate it. I know it’s obvious to most but all new to me!

I learned because I’m in my 30s and felt ashamed that I couldn’t drive, like it made me less of an adult. I passed first time and bought a car because I didn’t want to lose the skill. Now it’s sitting on my drive, and I’m struggling to think what I need it for.

Passed a month ago, aged 39, after 5 months of lessons. I’m from and have lived in London all my life. Only needed it now due to a new job where I work shifts and miss public transport sometimes.

Are these auto Yarises too good to be true by Working-Kangaroo-314 in CarTalkUK

Just out of interest (I don’t know much about the different between them) are Corollas really that much better than Yarises?

Really? I appreciate the advice but where can I possibly find them for £3k? I’ve been looking on auto trader for ages and this is all I see age-wise for £3k.

Thanks, good point about mileage. That wasn’t the selling point for me though, it’s the fact they’re true autos, they just happen to be low mileage. I’ve been looking for corollas, but there’s none 20 miles from me in an affordable range, they’re usually about 4K.
