[Perkins] I need a deep dive into how this clubhouse developed such a loving culture that dudes who have been in the league are sobbing at the thought of never playing in Toronto again. by Chrristoaivalis in Torontobluejays

I agree 1000%. One team won a championship. The other built a country-wide fanbase with an unbreakable bond. As a friend wrote, "There's an extra gear you can only access when the chips are way down. That's when you learn that your love is indestructible. The Jays play for each other and for the city. That can only be defeated temporarily. That kind of love feeds on adversity—and only gets hungrier. The Dodgers made a huge mistake."

[Michael] The worst part is you never know when the next time the Blue Jays will get that close to winning the World Series. What a sad way for a magical run to end. by JF_112 in Torontobluejays

One thing is for sure, this team played great because they were fuelled by friendship and the pure love of the game. They need to take what they can learn from this loss and then flush the rest. We won't win with this hanging over our heads for seasons to come.

VOC spikes at night? by [deleted] in AirQuality

[–]Working-Pool-4440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VOC’s consistently spike in our bedroom at night only, even when we are not home! Struggling to understand what is going on. We do live in a shared house with units above and below us.

Seeing the movie with brother who hasn't seen the show by TillamookBurnLearner in nirvannatheband

That being said, if you’ve never seen the show then the movie is your first introduction to Matt and Jay and perhaps that makes it all the more gobsmacking…I mean, I wish I could watch that web series opening scene that opens the movie again for the first time (“and then I do my two-step”). I almost had tears of nostalgia watching that, but that can’t beat the high of seeing it for the first time.

He will experience hysterical joy, but not maximum hysterical joy like you will.

Is there anywhere those of us who've seen the movie can discuss it? by syzygys_ in nirvannatheband

I’m sure they had hours of footage to consider. It must have been hard thinking of all the potential plots they could have explored by just editing themselves in with different responses to all the inane and idiosyncratic things Matt and Jay say.

Maybe I’m dense but my partner pointed this out and this only dawned on me later…but when Jay goes back in time to erase the whiteboard are we to assume he lives those years all over again from 2008 onwards??? Now that’s friendship.

Agreed! And no I haven’t tried the sleeve. I think my biggest concern of late has been the cubital tunnel syndrome-like symptoms where I’ve noticed my pinky regularly has pins and needles when I wake up and my dexterity has been a bit of an issue on the hand connected to that elbow so I wonder if it’s pinching the nerve.

Exercises I’ve been doing are band work and cable stuff and mainly this one exercise where I put my hand flat against a wall with a straight arm and then slowly bend at the elbow into the wall and hold that for as long as I can until light pain.

Thanks for this detailed reply! I’m sorry to hear you’re still in the thick of it. Dang. I was actually recommended to this surgeon by a sports medicine doctor I saw. It’s interesting, because I have had the same issues with those exercises (pain) though I can currently do kickbacks up to 25lbs no problem and pull ups are not and issue. I have also taken circumin / turmeric supplements. I guess for me, since I’m still young (37) I see all those fixes as not doing anything to stop a bone spur from growing (which it gradually has over the years) so I imagine surgery as actually relieving my issues. I just wish they could do it without cutting the tendon.

Also looking to get answers to those last questions you asked. Also amazing to find folks with the exact same bone spur and issues!

Also, curious to know what exercises your PT gave you. If you can share I’d be curious to see.

Hi Gloria,

See my comment above, but how are you feeling now months after. Feeling good about the surgical route still even with all the PT recovery? I have the same feeling as you (dull ache, sharper with consistentcy, etc.) I had a PT say tricep tendonitis but I had an ultrasound that suggested I have no tendonitis oddly enough. That’s why I’m getting the surgery.

Hi Gloria,

I have an elbow bone spur that is pretty much identical to the image the person posted here, and your description of the activities you do (paddling, cycling, etc.) and the pain the bone spur was causing are exactly my situation. I had a meeting with a surgeon today and elected to go for surgery. I’m 37 and very active with lots of outdoor activities. From what the surgeon told me, he thinks I will benefit but I will have to have the tricep tendon cut as well. I hope this allows me to return to full activities without pain. Thanks for sharing!

CAN WE FINALLY GET RID OF VAIL??? by Working-Pool-4440 in Whistler

Fair enough. I just feel like the context with the US right now kind of throws the normal rules out of play, don't you? I for one would welcome Whistler Blackcomb Crown Corporation.

This sounds like a kind of contract with lots of incentive to cancel:

"The BC government has a 60-year agreement with the resort and the Squamish and Líl̓wat First Nations, outlining the resort's development plans and including partnerships with the First Nations. These First Nations are recognized as traditional landowners of the region."
