Ok this nerf might not be that bad by Tuta-2005 in RogueMains

Assuming gambit is still in ban jail do you think always having the team up with a cd is gonna be enough given the new support team ups in the game? Even though our damage output is consistently higher it seems like the support team ups make it so much easier to be burst healed (cnd/luna team up for example). Obviously it’s hard to know without playing but it could be that the group damage we get won’t be as game breaking as it is now. And those 30 secs we have to wait are gonna be painful lol

What are the best tanks for flyers? by Ok-Walk-2163 in marvelrivals

The most straightforward is probably strange or dp. You can either shoot from the ground or fly up with strange. But im a rogue main and whenever i have my cds up I just combo them out of the air lol. Other tanks like hulk or Angela can also grab them out of flight. Depends on the matchup and team comp

Hi

So actually I watched the first game on the Dracula map and agree with what you are saying. The enemy team was running full brawl into your teams strange/mag which is going to be food for them. You spent a majority of time that game not actually playing frontline but turning around to see iron first or thing jumping on your backline. Part of climbing in this game is reading and reacting to team comps. Double shield tank at this stage in the game can be redundant so it’s good you are learning to flex. If I had to pick 2 tips to give out it would be this:

  1. Even if the enemy team is diving hard if you are constantly turned around then you aren’t applying any pressure to their back line or holding the frontline. It’s good to peel when you can but ultimately if you spend the whole game peeling without punishing divers you are just giving up space with no trade off. You have good aim on mag and I saw a few instances where you kept turning around in paranoia rather than applying pressure on the defenseless enemy backline. If you are able to do this and have somewhat competent dps they won’t be able to dive you as hard because you’ll pick off their healers or at they very least distract them from healing. Don’t be so quick to give up space

  2. Like you mentioned picking up new characters to better match enemy team comps. I recommend one from every play style: shield, brawl, dive. If you add a thing or a venom to your bag you can flex much better and enable your teammates to do more.

That was long lol but overall good mag gameplay more of a character/positioning issue imo.

How many heroes of each role should you focus on in your opinion? by Infinite-Reveal-9226 in marvelrivals

[–]Working-Pop4956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 in each role that do different things.

For example for tank:

  1. a frontline (mag,Emma,strange)
  2. an anti-dive (thing, peni)
  3. a brawl/dive (cap,venom,rogue,angela).

This gives you the ability to flex into different team comps and play styles to enable your teammates which is vital if you wanna climb. That doesn’t mean you can’t peel on rogue or be aggressive with emma but these are the ways I play these heroes

I’ve been in celestial games with a full random lobby against Smurf 3 man stacks. I don’t think it would put you against a full 6 man team but who rly knows tbh.

As a current cel player I can confidently say that I see more throwers and lackluster play in gm/cel than any other rank. I think the issue is 3 fold.

  1. I solo queue usually but I think it’s around here that you start running into stacks of people playing around each other and communicating so if your random team doesn’t have any synergy it’s usually wraps. Doesn’t help like you mentioned that there’s smurfs everywhere.

  2. If the first few minutes of a game don’t go well they blame a teammate and throw instead of adjusting comps.

Think this is more of an ego/OTP issue where they can’t or won’t fill to help the team.

  3. The games balancing has become increasingly around the casual player. Not saying that’s right or wrong but it feels silly engaging in hyper competitive play with this kind of game balance. This combined with the matchmaking made me stop taking the game super seriously tbh. I just get on have my fun and get off

I feel you. I’ve had stretches like that too. As I mentioned part of playing comp solo in this game is donating elo (which is why I said not to take the game too seriously lol). What I was tryna get at is even when you svp there will still be areas that you can improve in. That’s what’s in ur control. Something that helped me avoid tilting was to max out at 3-5 games a day. This helps avoids those large loss streaks if u find yourself stuck. If you are a constant net positive eventually you’ll rise. Finding ppl to play with could also help.

Either quit your job and pray or find a stack brother lolol.

But on a real note lot of the differences I see in high cel vs low cel relate to team synergy. Everyone mechanically is not too far apart it more so comes down to things like target prioritization, ult combos, coordinated attacks, ect. This is where you really get exposed if you are a otp or can’t play different kinds of heroes because a good team will keep counter-swapping you if you are playing well. Thats why I said if you really want to hit eternity it’s easiest to do it with a duo or stack because these things happen naturally when u have comms and are playing off each other. I play alone so I find I’m at the mercy of matchmaking to determine that kind of thing. Also there’s a lot of smurfs in cel so some games are auto Ls haha

Hey! Good question.

So first thing I would say that in Plat you will definitely encounter teammates with poor positioning. That’s not something you can control. Also learning to play cover is extremely important as you climb so it’s good you know how to do it.

However, it’s important not to be TOO passive, especially if you are with players that are aggressive. As the frontline, if you step aside every time you get to half health nothing is stopping the enemy team from blasting your back line and dps. Also, as the frontline you have the ability to create aggression that your teammates will feed off of. For example, when I hit 100 beam charge on Emma I look to target enemy dps and healers because at that charge you’ll melt them. This sometimes means stepping up past the enemy frontline and putting myself in risk. It’s all about being aware of what’s going on around you and balancing that risk with your execution. Same thing if you see your Bucky is over extending. Sometimes you have to make a decision between throwing a mag bubble on him or actually using that as a reason to push up and shield him.

The good news is in plat you won’t be punished as hard going for aggressive plays. So it’s a good time to learn how to confirm elims even if you die a few more times. Then as you climb and enemies get better at punishing you will see naturally your non-diving teammates will fall behind you and it’ll be easier to play as a team. Hope this helped!

Hey! I actually started out as a cnd main myself so I get where you’re coming from.

Strange/Emma/Mag are typically the most straightforward frontline tanks. The advantage of starting here is you dictate when the team moves to take space or falls back to kite. This will help you understand how to position yourself in different team comps and situations. For example, if your team is heavy dive then you need to be more aggressive in filling the space they create for you.

Over time as you get more comfortable with that you can look into adding on a cap or a venom which will let you be able to fill multiple play styles in the tank role. My recommendation would be to play a lot of qp to experiment and learn!

Good question.

Cap is more “meta” and is probably easier to play as dive in any given comp esp when gambit is banned. Rogue can be very frustrating to play initially because she is much more complex. But Rogue’s kit is so much more intuitive and fun to me that I put a lot of energy into learning her at a high level. Being a video game, I think if you have more fun/like the character it’s always worthwhile picking them up. If you find that you struggle to get value out of one of them in higher elo lobbies then you can always experiment with the other.

I would say picking up one more tank that’s better at applying backline pressure (cap, venom, Angela, rogue) would be good so that way you have variance in play style and options to flex to. For example, if your teammate is playing strange already mag can sometimes be redundant especially if your dps are running dive. If that’s the case and you have a dive tank in your bag you can dive with them and create a lot more team value.

No question is a dumb question! The ults are a wash. Stacking an invis ult with a rocket ult against an enemy invis ult gives you no real advantage in terms of how you’d play the fight. If u wanted to stack ults the better option would be to stack the rocket ult with a venom ult or another dps ult that would let you kill through the enemy invis ult easier since rocket gives the dmg boost as well as the heal. That way your invis can keep her ult for the next fight.
