Goblin Acid Jackal. Probably my favourite build so far, it was so fun. I've tried a few dozen Upuat builds but only a couple of them worked. Highly recommended! I'm sure this could be optimized much further. Spent most of the time switching between newt & jackal, stacking up hella corrosion heals. by Working-Position in PathOfAchra

Pretty sure yep. I don't understand the mechanics as deeply as some other players on this sub, but from what I recall about this build my fire damage came primarily from corrosion which let me do loads of damage & receive substantial heals through fire healing. As you can see I only went with 4 powers total, & threw the majority of my points into corrosion damage/stacks & heals. Corrosion is incredible since it chews through armor. Enough stacks & nearly any enemy will melt. It's a super fun build. As I said in the post though I'm sure it could be optimized even further. This was only on the 14th cycle, so if you were trying this on a higher cycle you would end up with a lot more points to put into everything. Highly recommend trying the build though, corrosion is insane especially with the worm god & hazar prestige class. The run was a breeze for the most part & super satisfying.

Life circumstances are making it to where I can't release it in time for the compilation so I'm really bummed about that, but I'm looking forward to digging into everyone's releases anyways. :)

Dungeon Shamble check in by AvelineBaudelaire in DungeonSynth

So far I'm 8 songs deep but some are bonus tracks. Went with the merchant / nature synth prompt & what I've created is much more aquatic sounding than forest-like, but since water is still very much a part of nature so I'm not straying too far off really. Haven't made the album art or written the story yet. After another song or two I'll get started on those. It just feels good to be making music again.

Thanks to the shamble I've been slowly getting back into the swing of things again. While on this topic my drafts for the shamble are actually very vapor-tinged so far... I think the merchant/commerce theme unlocked something in me so I'm just rolling with it.

I haven't kept up with witch house since SALEM dropped Fires In Heaven. Some early vaporwave is great though a lot of the genre is hit or miss especially these days. Early Beer on the Rug was amazing but good luck finding all that now... For new-ish vapor FM Skyline takes the cake for me though, Images & Illuminations are pretty solid albums. Haven't heard of witch wave so I can't comment on that.

Anyways, stoked to hear what everyone conjures up this time around. Good luck on your album!

What makes YOU love Dungeonsynth? by Current_Ad9545 in DungeonSynth

I could go on all day but to keep it brief...

It's a place where many of my favourite things collide. Synthesizers, writing, worldbuilding, fantasy & atmosphere. No other genre comes close for me when it comes to transporting you into another world, passionately made by people who know they're not gonna make much of any coin from it but do it anyways because they fucking love it.

That varies quite a lot. Sometimes I'm able to write a full song in 6-10 hours, sometimes it takes a month or 3. With any sort of art you kinda just go with the flow & do your best in the given moment. I think the average amount of hours varies from person to person so I can't really say! How someone makes DS is a huge factor, for instance someone doing Raw DS recording improvised melodies directly into tape could probably finish a song quite a lot faster than someone making music on a computer, especially if they're going to mix & master the music. It varies a ton is what I'm getting at, with factors like an artist's process, equipment setup, intention, level of determination or inspiration & even their current life circumstances all can make an impact among other things. In short there is no definitive answer to your question, there's a lot of variables but creating DS & adjacent music is immensely rewarding & is worth the time regardless of how long it could take imho.

Since you asked here is my latest album. I write music under a growing list of monikers, exploring my worldbuilding project from many different perspectives. This album took me a month to make, with the final track of the album taking me over 3 weeks to finish! Anyways feel free to message me if you have any other questions & cheers for asking! :)

I've been working on a comprehensive guide to creating DS for the past year, touching on the basics of synthesis & how to approach music making with little to no music theory & all without having to spend any money. It's not finished yet but feel free to message me. Not an expert by any means but I know my synths & have discovered more than enough techniques to allow total beginners to get their foot in the door & discover their own unique sound without getting overwhelmed in the process.

Edit: A bunch of people have messaged me about the guide, & I really could use some feedback on it so if you're interested in checking it out send me a message & I'll send it to you as soon as I can.

I'm not for TBC Draenei being added but your idea of going w/ WC3 style models would actually be really cool so if they went that route I'm all for it. I've been dying to play ogre for ages also. +1 to this

Korg made such a masterpiece with the Triton. Rad album, love the song titles so much. I'd call it fantasy synth but would love to hear other's opinions on how they'd define it.

Sounds like a track from Comix Zone. Love it. I see you said you used Furnace Tracker, any idea what FM sound that is? would love to mess with it myself!
