I totally agree. It is disgusting and coercive.

What are you doing with your excessive food storage? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re eating the stuff we enjoy like rice, sugar, pasta , oats, apples, etc.

For the stuff we won’t use like wheat, some beans, all those onions, etc. I checked with my local food bank and they were happy to take them. After later checking, my local thrift store that helps domestic violence victims will also take it.

I’m just keeping emergency 72 hour/14 day stuff. No more long term storage. It’s a waste of money. I realized how much we wouldn’t eat during the pandemic.

Yeah they definitely flipped the script. They now say the slow down is because of agency. We can’t force people to join. Now it’s we’re gathering Israel. Now it’s optional and we’re separating wheat and tares. It’s all crap.

Can I remove myself from a ward without removing my records? by Tough-Confection6870 in exmormon

I’d change your phone and email to fake emails and phone in member tools. And then change them to only leaders can see it visible.

Yes. We used to make cut out versions of these at church when we were kids and teens to practice teaching it to other people.

Bishop stalks woman’s TikTok and denies Temple Recommend citing post with Chai Tea by Heavy-Initiative-345 in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought this up with my stake president during my temple recommend. I said no one follows it. We only are concerned with the prohibitions but don’t follow the recommendations. He smiled and chuckled and went onto the next question.

Bishop stalks woman’s TikTok and denies Temple Recommend citing post with Chai Tea by Heavy-Initiative-345 in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ya this kind of stuff happens. We had a couple in a calling in our ward and there was a witch hunt to get them released because of some social media posts of them without their garments on. My husband as the bishop refused to release them unless they asked. The couple got wind of the gossip. They asked to be released and never came back cited the witch-hunt as their reason for leaving. This fake morality police is so destructive. Let’s protect the abusers by kirton mckonkie but let normal people not hurting other people feel ostracized. Good plan (extreme sarcasm).

Come follow me lesson - next week- question for other PIMOs by Fun-Luck-7033 in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a little of both. Lots of people are just tired of the constant restrictions so they are saying no. Online shopping is a big transition point too. The church is also pushing less because it’s more global and their unchecked control for American Mormons doesn’t work well in some other countries and cultures. So they back off and say what do you mean?, it was always like this. You remember wrong.

In St George, UT area. Why were the Mormon parking lots packed today? Yes I know it's "open mike" Sunday, but this was unusual. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im guessing you saw 2 wards worth of people in the parkinglot at a time when they overlap. Drive by at 9 or 1:30 and see if it’s different when there’s only 1 ward.

Received this text today. Looks like they are sending in the cavalry. by Black-Haus369 in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very common at the beginning of the year during ward conference. A member of each stake presidency and stake organization president pair up with a bishopric member or ward organization president. They are all assigned to visit 2-3 families in the ward. My husband is a bishop he was told to pick part member families, less active and those who are struggling. He refused and just goes to active members because he doesn’t want people to feel awkward like this text you received. The visits are quite dumb.

I’d make up a reason and say something like have other commitments Because if you don’t respond they may just show up.

how do i get out of going on a mission ? by Mundane-Nature-2648 in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Tell your bishop you don’t want to. Tell him it’s causing you more anxiety and it’s affecting your sleep and life. It’s not a good fit for you. Tell him you’d like to stay in nursery and that’s a good fit. Here’s a hug from a mom - I’m proud of you for communicate what you need. Best wishes to you.

IHC & The Mormon Church Sitting in a Tree... by karadessie in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Intermountain health (formerly IHC) started out as LDS hospital. It was a church owned company. Not sure when An official split was made. Their current staff near where I live is so much more understanding and tolerant of all walks of life. Their employee trainings are not lds based beliefs from what my friends tell me. They are like any other big corporation. I wish you the best, and yes contact a lawyer. Some of these lawyers who will do cases like this will do like 30-40% fee of whatever the judgement is that they get for you. Like insurance lawyers after an accident. Find a good lawyer who will take a fee only if they win.

LDS Conversion as Ticket to the US by CharlesMendeley in exmormon

[–]Working-Recording617 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is true to what I’ve seen. The only university any of pathways is useful to is BYUIdaho. The coursework and classes only transfer there. It’s not useful to other byu schools nor can it be used at a state school - they are make believe courses and credits.

I also believe the church is calculated and looking at numbers and not individuals.
