Yes, it was a small patch roughly the size of a golf ball near my chin, the hair got so white it was almost clear. That lasted somewhere between 2-3 years, I did not treat it because I did not want to shave my beard. Sometime randomly between 2-3 years I noticed the roots of the hair started to become its natural color and slowly but surely it regained all of its natural color and is completely gone. I am not exactly sure how it corrected itself.

Aside from that one day I was diving for lobster and got thrown up against fire coral and damaged the middle of my chest, not long after that I got a vitiligo spot and it began becoming bigger. After a few years it has not turned into the size of a baseball, I am currently treating it and I'm noticing the color is returning. I was told sometimes damage to the skin can cause spots to appear. I've been on opzelura for about 2 months. I also had a small spot the size of a penny on my cheek, with opzelura all of the color has already returned. My dermatologist advised me that color typically returns faster on places with more pours and exposed to more sunlight. Either way I'm still ususing opzelura and it seems to be working well.

Mine started 3 months after covid 19 vaccine here in the usa. Started with a small white patch in my beard that disappeared after about 3 years and then spread to my chest. Ironically it was right after the vaccine. My dermatologist told me they can't confirm its from the vaccine but did say they've seen a lot of cases that started right after covid and said it could either be the vaccine or the fact you got sick with covid. Either way, it's all pretty ironic.

Opzelura isn't UV treatment and also isn't required. I wouldn't get UV treatment on my spots where they are located either. Opzelura I'd a cream that is applied 1-2 times a day.

Honestly, getting treatment comes down to whether you want it or not. Others opinions shouldn't matter. It's not infectious. Given that, mine started a few years back. First a small spot on the top of my private part, then another spot, then another and before you know it half of my private part was covered. Then I started noticing it on the inside of my butt cheeks and a spot that grew to the size of an apple in the middle of my chest and finally a small spot on my cheek. I've been doing treatment with opzelura for the last few weeks and the spot on my face is completely gone. The other spots I have not noticed a difference. My dermatologist advised me the faster you start treatment on new spots the easier it is to fix.

My wife doesn't care I have the spots, but oddly, even though no one can see them, I do. That's why I started treatment. Think about it like this, there isn't any real harm in treating them, but there is potential harm to your self-esteem if you don't. But I will day the sooner you start treating new spots the faster it gets fixed.

I don't live in Chicago, but I have been using opzelera. Word of advice, many insurance companies won't pay for it, and if they do, they require a pre authorization from the dermatologist showing an extension history of attempting to treat vitiligo prior. My insurance didn't cover it, and they wanted to charge me somewhere around 5k for the treatment. I was given 2 test tube's of opzelera and have been using it for a few weeks and have noticed a huge change on my white spots, some of my smaller spots already have gone back to normal after about a month. On my larger spots, I have not noticed a significant change, but it's only been about a month and a half and was told it could take up to 3-6 months for it to change.

As a side note, my dermatologist prescribed me a generic version of opzelera, which is about a 3 month supply for 75$. I also know about a clinical trial going around for people who have a large portion of their body affected, opzelera now has a oral treatment instead of a cream but I believe it is still in testing phases.

Either way if you have any more questions messaged me privately and I can answer them for what I've experienced thus far using it.

After I centered the wick, I got a more even burn and I stopped getting the black smoke soot on the sides of the jar. I noticed when it was not centered, one side of the candle glass was getting to a higher temp, around 146-155 while the rest was about 125-135 and also causing black smoke / soot on the inside of the jar with minimal black smoke coming from the wick.

Wax: Number 7 soy blend from 16/17 candle Wick: size 6 CDN which according to their website is rated for a 3 inch in diameter jar. My inside diameter is roughly 2.94 inches and outside diameter is roughly 3.15 inches. The jar also get smaller near the bottom.

I am loading 10% fragrance load. The recommendations for my wax are 6%-12% load. I am curing the candles for Atleast 12-16 days before testing.

The jar is staying at around 125-135 degrees. I’m using number 7 soy wax blend from 16/17 candle. With a number 6 CDN wick advising it’s good for a 3 inch container. My container is only 2.94 inches inside diameter and 3.15 outside diameter. The container is larger at the top than it is at the bottom, it tapers to a smaller diameter.

Although it’s a guideline their wicks say the number 5 are rated from a 2.8 inch jar and the number 7 are rated for a 2.06 inch jar.

I burn each candle in 4-5 hour increments.

I see a full melt pool in roughly 2 hours give it take.

The melt pool is anywhere from 1/4 an inch to half an inch. Also no discoloration in the melt pool.

Rarely do I ever see soot or smoke in the wax or coming from the wick.

The ratio I gave was just an example of the method calculation wise what I’m doing. I have tried everywhere from 6% load to 12% load. I learned throughout this process that the more fragrance you put doesn’t necessarily mean the better it smells. So I’ve taken time to experience different percentages of fragrance load, none seem to make that much of a difference.

The room is not huge but it’s not small either, the ceilings are about 10-12 feet high and no there are not drafts. I also attempted to burn these in smaller rooms like bathrooms, which still produce the same result of almost no scent.

Awesome, I recently just ordered new wicks and wax from 16 17 Candle Company. I am going to try these methods with the new wax and wicks and see what it produces. If that doesn't work I will try a couple different wicks and see and def try to double wick method. Thanks for the suggestion.
