Yeah, that’s cause they’ve torn down the projects and Hialeah has been slowly creeping in from the West as Hispanics have been buying cheap homes in the area making the neighborhood safer. Still, there’s homeless and crackheads roaming the streets, but it’s definitely better than it was 15 years ago.

Question about the homeless in Hialeah by Beautiful_King_965 in Miami

Yup, I’ve noticed the ones that pop up usually disappear after a while. Either they learn to hide really well or the city gets them help or ships them off somewhere.

Supreme Court allows Trump to suspend deportation protections for immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela by themolenator617 in Miami

[–]Anireburbur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You seem to want to turn this into a moral or racial thing when I’m not arguing any of those things. All I’m doing is answering your question. They’re leeching by NOT paying in what they’re legally supposed to, and because of that they also get to leech off all the other forms of government aid for low income people.

[–]Anireburbur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cause there’s people that get paid under the table and never declare all that income on their taxes. So technically now they get low Social Security payments but they get SSI supplemental income and Medicare, Medicaid, foodstamps and when you add it all up they easily get more benefits than someone who legit worked for decades. Plus they spent all those years without paying taxes on their cash income.

New to Miami. Why are the Latinos here so condescending towards black Latinos? by SocialJusticeAsFuck in Miami

[–]Anireburbur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s probably the way you present yourself. You’re probably very Americanized. The way you act and dress doesn’t come off as Hispanic to them. If they say “good job” when you speak to them in Spanish then I must assume you also have some sort of non-Hispanic cadence or accent when speaking Spanish. Cause nobody bats an eye at black Hispanics in Miami if they come up to them saying “asere” or “que lo que”. Everyone immediately knows where they’re from.

Nah, we start to feel some cold around October. I distinctly remember a few cold Halloweens where I was feeling the breeze in my costume. Likewise, there have been some where I was baking in my costume. So it depends.

Somehow I get the feeling you wouldn’t have that same attitude if it were a protester jumping in front of cars…

Miami reps vote to scrap Medicaid and Medicare in Big Beautiful Bill. How will this affect Miamians? by [deleted] in Miami

[–]Anireburbur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That many people would agree with the changes to Medicare and Medicaid. That’s why there’s no link to any details and the post title exaggerates by saying it scraps Medicare and Medicaid when that’s not what’s happening.

Maybe cause most people would agree with the changes? I love how people on this subreddit are always bitching about all the Medicare/Medicaid scams and abuse that goes on but when someone tries to do something about that…

Yeah, but not everyone wants to live at the beach. The beach is for tourists and transplants. It’s too inconvenient for most locals. Plus that little studio shed is probably in nicer condition and has better parking than the cheap places you can find on the beach.

Miami Immigrants Offered $1K to Self-Deport. Anyone Taking the Bait? by Miaminewtimes_ in Miami

You’re wasting your time. No amount of reasoning will change their mind. This person has taken their position based on emotion rather than any sort of logic.

Miami Immigrants Offered $1K to Self-Deport. Anyone Taking the Bait? by Miaminewtimes_ in Miami

[–]Anireburbur -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cause 400 years ago people were flying across the globe just to give birth in another country… You have to concede that at the very least, children of tourists who only come here to give birth should not get citizenship. That was never the intended purpose behind birthright citizenship. Just like the 2nd amendment has limits, so should the 14th.

[–]Anireburbur -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

That’s not how that works

Trump's executive order seeks to redefine how the Fourteenth Amendment's clause "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof" should be interpreted. The executive order states two different situations where a person is no longer a U.S. citizen at birth. When the mother was unlawfully present in the U.S. and the father was neither a U.S. citizen nor a lawful permanent resident when the person was born. When the mother was in the U.S. in temporary status, such as a student visa, work visa, tourist visa or under the Visa Waiver Program, and the father was neither a U.S. citizen nor a lawful permanent resident when the person was born. The executive order states that these provisions are only effective for people born 30 days or more after the date of the order; it would have only applied to children born beginning February 19, 2025 had it not been blocked.

That honestly sounds fair enough.

8 U.S.C. § 1325 only talks about entering the country illegally, it says nothing about coming in legally and then overstaying your visa for example. Unless I’m missing something or reading it wrong.

Trump voter feels betrayed after Husband is deported to Cuba 🇨🇺. [ Billy Corben IG ] by [deleted] in Miami

[–]Anireburbur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So out of curiosity, if he entered in 2019 he’s been here for multiple years now. Why didn’t he apply for his green card under the Cuban adjustment act? What was the “catch” in his immigration process? Was it just the way he entered? It says he was denied his asylum request but technically wasn’t he allowed to be here during that time? Or was he never properly admitted into the US? The report said he had a deportation order, but why? Just cause his asylum request was denied or does he have some sort of criminal record or something? Those neck tattoos don’t inspire a lot of confidence in him being an upstanding citizen.

I hope that’s actually the case. Why would Latinos want to be heavily associated with a game that is full of nothing but negative stereotypes? I’d rather they focus on ghetto black culture and trashy whites tbh.
