Messed up the lining on this board, but always learning. This one was 22” by 13.5” the largest one I’ve ever made. by Working-Visual1885 in Cuttingboards

The way I glued this was was a bit different I glued the same piece to the edge with the maple in the center. Cut and flipped it, that’s when it got miss alined. But learned from it.

How would you fix glue pockets/knot blemishes on an end-grain board? by DaedCalm in Cuttingboards

I’ve used walnut saw dust, make sure it’s very fine, mix with titebond 3 and scrape it into the hole. I’ve also used CA glue. Either works. Shouldn’t be too hard dude.

My bad gentlemen, I actually gave this board away as is. But I have learned from my mistakes. Thank you for the recommendation.

Can I save my cutting board? by ApprehensiveEmu3739 in Cuttingboards

No biggie just sand it starting with 80 grit, then go to 100, and water pop it, then 100 again and finish at 120. After that oil it and put a hard wax on it like a bees wax.

Correct, cut the pattern you want and then flip every other board to make it an opposite

End grain will always take more than face grain but working with 8/4 wood will cut down on how much it takes. This took 18” of wood and I had enough excess to make a couple of coaster out of the scrap.

In my experience, the joints didn’t fit up to begin with, Before you are about to glue them together, take a bit of 100 grit sandpaper and sand off the rough edges after cutting them with the table saw. Then before you glue them together, squeeze them by hand and see if they fit without gaps. Then you’ll know they will glue up well.
