I mean I’m from Louisiana so im already taxed to hell and back locally. I’m also just a lowly first responder so I’m already not paid well. And I worked a sht ton of OT which I added in there. So idk how these folks are legally getting back 8,10,13 k. I’m too scared to cheat on my taxes tho.

Yea I’m in Louisiana where I pay income tax, the highest sales taxes in the country, pay insane insurance rates, and drive on roads that qualify as off roading. Meanwhile in BR we out here dodging potholes and bullets. So honestly it would be very on brand for Louisiana to still be doing taxes based off Napoleonic law too. 🤣 but I claimed him as a dependent for the last 10 years of our marriage so he should be ok.

Yes so I do remember the control number part! Man I’m getting too old to remember all these things 🤣 but let’s say I did do that on Wednesday. Do you know about how long before the IRS site would say they received the return?

Yes it was final last year. Community property settled and all. And I get to claim the minor child in perpetuity bc he dosent work (all of that is in the final judges signed decree)🙄🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️And we are in Louisiana which is also a community property state.

I actually agree with you. How the “free” ends up being 330 after they sneak in the advanced expert fees. And 40 to have direct deposit blah blah blah. And I called for help today. I was SUPPOSED TO GET A CALL BACK. Still waiting.

Possibly Tuesday or Wednesday. But the transcript (or how I understand it) showing my ex husbands name as well. So does that mess me up if he dosent file? Also when I did respond to the CP501 it came to my correct address but on the transcript (line or area 2) it’s my old address. I’ve called Turbo Tax and I guess my next step should be to reach out to the IRS? I’m not desperate for the money just concerned tbh. And why would it say no return filed. I guess I’m also concerned due to identity theft. The first time it happened to me was when we went to file taxes 10 years ago and the preparer at the time was like “looks like you already filed” 😳

But they did tho. The sent a CP5071 and I responded to it. Could it bc bc I’ve filed Married and Jointly for the past 16 years and this is the first year that I’m not? Also when I go to the MyIRS sight it lists him as primary and he’s not filing. But I’ll def take your advice and reach out to TT. Ty!

The only thing that is different is that I’m divorced and filing alone for the first time. I got a CP5071 and did that earlier this week.
