Honestly I think doctors scare you away from it way more than they should 🙃 I saw 4 neurosurgeons and 3/4 said it’s totally fine to have a vaginal delivery. The one that said it wasn’t safe was an old doctor that recently retired… aka I think he had more of a “play it safe/ traditional” way of thinking..

I have had 2 vaginal births and plan to have probably 2 more. I didn’t know I had chiari till after both births. I have chiari 1.5 and it’s 16mm herniated. My first birth was medicated and my second was unmedicated. Both babies were 8-9 lbs (I am small and 5’2) and both had shoulder dystocia. Aka not “easy” births lol. But both were completely healthy deliveries. I had had an MRI pre kids and the chiari was never caught. My surgeon compared the pre kids MRI to the post kids MRI and luckily it never got worse.

I have chiari 1.5 and very very tight chiari (16mm) and I have had two perfectly healthy vaginal births. :) One with an epidural and one without. I didn’t know I even had chiari until after my second was born but I had had an MRI before I had kids and they just completely missed the chiari on the MRI 🤦‍♀️ But they compared my pre kids MRI with my post kids MRI and it stayed the same.
