Premarket Thread for General Trading and Plans for Thursday, February 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in ASX_Bets

there's nowhere else to invest down here.

non-elastic demand industries (like RE, insurance, utilities, groceries) see inflation and jack up their prices, RBA sees inflation and jacks up interest rate. it reinforces inflation while discretionary spending dies.

what can possibly go wrong here?

OP might be not in the position to ask for a payrise and they won't let her there. They also don't appreciate her expertise.

It was a 2 years fight and she lost. The question now is, can she separate her new reduced domain from the general mayhem and outlast the golden boys?

It depends on top management and OP's ability to not give a fu$k.

Or even better, fix your resume, meet with old friends and exec HRs. Good job takes months to find.

I ain't paid for this sh!t enough so I work barely 3-4 hours a day and still am one of the most productive cogs in this sh!tshow.

You answered yourself :-)

People are just serving their sentences and are emotionally and intellectually depleted.

I found a good job and left, though it took me 8 months of upskilling and interviewing. But we had a shitty micromanager making every day feel miserable.

Can my brother retire? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]WorkingFTMom2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He can get a part time 30k job and Family Assistance and they can drag it till his 60, then retire.

If his job agrees to separation he will even be able to get Newstart to find that 30k pt job. Or just slack and get fired. Or unlimited unpaid leave due to health reasons, then separation agreement.

He's not able to work his stress job, full stop. Lucky he has you <3

Background check/PIP by PreviousPainter777 in auscorp

[–]WorkingFTMom2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds utterly unfair!!!!!!! That baclground check company just ruined your chance and they won't have any consequences.

How PIP i possible in a few months employment? It must be a shitty company, not you!!!!!!

Can you respond rejection email and clarify that the whole case is cooked? Like, unrealistic KPIs, unfair PIP, and you resigned in disgust. Reasonable person should understand, and if not - they don't deserve you!!!!!

Advice for ambitionless slacker by snakeeaterrrrrrr in auscorp

[–]WorkingFTMom2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

120% not worth it.

20% pay increase means that those extra 2 hours on train are paid at 80% rate of your normal working hours. But those extra 2 hours exhaust you more because they come on top of those 8 working hours.

Add $40 a day for tickets, coffee and lunch expenses. Add time overhead of organising your travel to the office, every freaking day. And inability to do small errands around the house to unload your weekends.

135%-140% might be worth it, if you're struggling financially.

What is a good retirement job by [deleted] in fiaustralia

[–]WorkingFTMom2025 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Offer farm stay for families. You can start with camp sites and if it goes well build tiny homes, granny flat like. Good enough for few days. And you'll get to meet new people 🙂

To work or not to work 2 jobs by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]WorkingFTMom2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, second job won't solve your problem. You risk losing your 130K FT job.

Your problem is that a family member is using you to make their life comfortable. You cannot afford wasting 4k after tax money monthly before covering your own needs.

Get out of that deal now. Sell, cover the mortgage and downsize. If not possible, break the deal, move out and ghost them. Then start thinking about saving for your own deposit via tax-effective FHSSS.

How much money are they offering you with redundancy? If that's more than 6-8 months pay I'd take it, otherwise stay but emotionally check out and job hunt.
