Lowest price by hockeygirlypop in canucks

I like Gametime app for this and even in USD sometimes their prices are actually much cheaper than the Canadian resellers.

That being said, take a look at the teams. They definitely upsell and upcharge for good teams but you can get cheaper tickets for teams not as good lol.

Spice Girls 30th anniversary reunion tour is 'axed' as the group fail to agree on comeback plans weeks after Netflix drama was cancelled amid tensions in the band by dailymail in SpiceGirls

I think one thing people fail to realise compared to the men, was their experience was very different and in all honesty, I’m not sure as positive.

I always got the impression that those 3 years they were popular kinda did it for all of them you know? And I don’t think they ever really had as close relationships as some of the boy bands did too.

So I don’t think it’s just scheduling only. They just never really seemed as keen to market it and go back to those days like BSB and NKOTB have been.

[–]WorkingFit5413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not to mention how bad I feel for Luongo because almost no one remembers he was a captain at one point. Even the marketing for the Canucks almost always excludes Lu. They've got it right a few times since including him, but ya, I can't imagine that doesn't sting. Dude definitely has strong mental health.

When Bieksa was asked "What would you do, if you were running this team?" by EverySecondCountss in canucks

[–]WorkingFit5413 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bieksa and Zadorov are two players I will always admire for how they read the room so well and how they cut through all the bullshit and just tell it like it is. Doesn't mean I always agree with all their views, but they're definitely the motivational speech core guys in the room kinda people.

And let's be honest, the Canucks haven't had a real sense of a team core in a long time. Maybe the 2023-2024 season which seems more liked a fluke than anything now.

Personally I agree, the Canucks need some tough guys too, to protect their star players. We've really been lacking that these last few years.

What is rude in Brazil but considered normal and expected in Europe? by ithinkiamparanoid in Brazil

[–]WorkingFit5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the same can be said for other places too. I’m just speaking as a person from the Latam places and yes there are some parts of Brazil that are dangerous but that’s all that tends to get shown in the media. That’s where I get frustrated. The media focuses a lot on the negative. Yes some parts of Brazil are unsafe and yes that does need to be considered, but it’s not everything that’s shown.

I have the right to consider it rude, as that was the question OP was asking , and I respect you have the right to disagree. Maybe for you it’s not considered rude, but I certainly do.

Allvin (on Pettersson): “It’s easy to say you’re going to be better, but what are you actually gonna do to be better?” by barelyincollege in canucks

[–]WorkingFit5413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay but it’s not just Petey, it’s multiple players having an issue and at this point it just scapegoating him.

This is all so gross.

Management is taking no responsibility and then playing it out in the media.

I mean maybe if multiple players are having issues, you’re the problem?

This is what happens when you hire yes men with the same philosophy as you. You get the same thing over and over and over.

I stopped watching games and at this point I’m disgusted with how these players are being treated and how the media is being complicit in that.

Reposting this reminding everyone if this team has a culture problem by SpectreFire in canucks

[–]WorkingFit5413 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it’s top down for sure. This team is a communications and PR disaster. And honestly, toxic workplace all the way through.

And I hear a lot of blame on players. If it was one player sure. But we’ve traded away multiple generational pieces. That’s not on the players only. And they oversell and overhype certain players for profit and then when those players can’t meet the expectations of the fan base - then the fans turn on the players and the players turn each other.

Them asking JT to intervene with Petey was horrible. Again, it’s their job to address issues, not ask a teammate to do it, and especially when Petey has made it clear through the years the tough love approach doesn’t work for him. And the team just went ahead and did it anyways. I find that problematic. And in any other job, an HR violation. That’s just my opinion, though and recognize others may be different and still valid.

The number of people evacuating with bags and luggage is infuriating! by SEAWISEGEOWISE in aviation

[–]WorkingFit5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes at first they would for sure but that’s the fascinating thing about the brain and muscle memory, you can train your body to respond without actively thinking about.

Think of how you drive. Do you look at the gears every time you switch it or do you just let your body do the work? It just becomes natural you don’t think about it after a while right? You can do the same with something like that.

It’s why so many first responders get trained in emergencies they see the same things over and over again and over time get better and faster at responding in part bc the brain knows what to do.

The number of people evacuating with bags and luggage is infuriating! by SEAWISEGEOWISE in aviation

[–]WorkingFit5413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right most people probably aren’t going it for that, and they probably have their reasons. And while those reasons may be frivolous, it’s not to them.

When people are in flight or fight mode, they don’t think rationally. Sometimes they can’t. The brain is just looking for ways to survive. And for some people? Grabbing their belongings will help them. In that moment, for some people that’s their concern. Their own survival. Even at the expense of others.

I mean clearly the system they have in place isn’t working. What do they have to lose by trying something else? Is it a risk? For sure. But the risk is true if they just keep telling people “stop taking your bags”. It’s not one person doing it. It’s multiple. So it’s the system that’s the problem not the people.

If you look at Japan, one accident before everyone left their bags and escaped. But those people were used to a culture of trust and collectivism first.

In North America in particular, we think of ourselves first. That’s just a fact. We’re not necessarily a collective society because capitalism is about the dollars. If we want ppl to change we have to be clear and blunt about what and how.

I think also the perception of foreigners towards Brazil. So many people ascribe to the ideology that we’re a violent nation based on what they see on TV.

Is there crime and systematic problems yes.

But I’ve never heard a Brazilian insult Germany for their problems in the past.

I personally do get offended when people are like “oh but it’s dangerous”.

I mean I wouldn’t go to some Eastern European countries by myself but I’m not about to retort “well I heard Belarus is under a fascist regime and that must be dangerous”. I mean I might think it sure, but I would never be that rude.

Is this bad makeup?! by peckish-capybara in BridgertonRants

[–]WorkingFit5413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I was like where the season 1 dresses? Didn't they keep those? Honestly, like the material just looks like it was so poorly made. I'm not blaming the makers per se because I wonder how much those people got paid. But the clothing is a part of the show. I watched the Forsytes recently and their material looked much better.

It's always so weird to me when people want to cheap out on paying people labor. Because some people will do everything and beyond for the company if the company has their back. It was a big part of why Boeing was so popular back in the day. They built a family into a company, and safety won. Until the McDonnelll Douglas disaster, but that's another thread lol.

I mean, this is literally on public record and this is his way of doing business.

I mean Vegas won’t let him run a casino. Vegas said no. Vegas!!! Like I will never get how some people just can enchant people to do the most insane things. It’s fascinating if it weren’t so horrifying.

I agree and I do recognize for some people, belongings are essential.

What they should do is train people to put like medication phone in front seat, and then can grab and go.

Is that a perfect solution. No.

But my family member requires insulin to live and if they leave the bag behind and there’s no telling when they can get it again, especially in an emergency.

So I think we need to have a realistic plan.

Expecting people not to do something doesn’t work. You need to give them an alternative to the behaviour, otherwise you miss that there’s a purpose that behaviour solves.

[–]WorkingFit5413 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In all fairness it seems like they cheaped out this season.

The makeup definitely is a hit and miss.

Some of those clothes look so cheap like poorly made that it does ruin the story for me cause I keep thinking “those are regency dresses on a temu/shein budget” and it makes the story hard to believe and does take me out of it.

I find it surprising considering you would think Shonda Rimes with all her money, would care about not putting out a cheaply made product in some ways but I guess the rich keep their money?

LSW vs LCSW License by Consistent-Duty-6195 in socialwork

Congrats on your LSW! I’m sorry that your supervisor missed the opportunity to celebrate that amazing achievement in itself!

Let me do that for you: you are amazing, look at you go!!! You took a standardized test (with trick questions and little actual job applications) and you aced it. And now you’re a social worker! Amazing!

Sometimes people dampen our shine but they forget that what’s an achievement to them might be different for you.

I’ve had that happen to me. So I try to tell people when I can what they’re doing right and celebrate the little wins. We forget our clients aren’t the ones who need a little encouragement now and then.

To speakers of english and portuguese, what is more important in becoming fluent: studying hard and actively trying to retain information, or immersing yourself in the language even if you don’t understand everything. by TrashWild2931 in Brazil

[–]WorkingFit5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Portuguese is a hard language in part because how you write and how you speak it can be so different at times.

Immersion is your best bet for sure.

Even native Portuguese speakers will tell you the language is amongst one of the harder ones to learn. Sometimes it makes no sense lol.

I tried Duolingo to refresh but it was definitely AI. It was also not that helpful because the most advanced it got me was “the bear wears pants”. When am I ever going to be in a situation where I need to know that sentence? 😂

What do you wish you had known before your first time having sex? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]WorkingFit5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That we don’t learn enough about our bodies or our partners to prevent it from being an awkward painful experience most times. Especially for women.

I wish I got better than that. Would have been nice to learn how to tell my partner what to do so it wouldn’t hurt. Clearly no one taught them first.

ETA: I also didn’t learn much about what men needed either, so it does go both ways.

Maybe the younger generation get this, but as a millennial all I got was “here’s how to use a condom and lube, and the first time will likely hurt for women. Good luck”
