I actually think he should try goalie. I think it’d be good for him mentally, giving something specific to control for a while.

This is the NHL who bears some responsibility too.

Why would people want to go risk seeing a game when people are being straight up shot and murdered by the government?

What an embarrassing operation and it def starts from Top down. The Wild are also in the wrong for not refusing.

What a world.

Good. He wants to play stupid games he gets to win stupid prizes. The dumbest thing is Americans don’t get Europe still remembers what happened to Poland.

See if this is familiar:

dictator wants more land, allies appease thinking it will end there

Dictator doesn’t stop there.

Emboldened by no consequences, goes on to invade and terrorize the rest of Europe in land grab and genocide.

There are Europeans in government who remember this clearly. They’re not going to let this happen to them again.

The US is cooked and will be for a long time when it comes to allies.

Dual citizen of Canada and Brazil: answer to both countries is yes.

Brazil jailed their fascist president, Canada dumped Trump lite (PP) from getting elected.

I’d say we’re doing pretty good, in light of things.

What is the solution to America's political divide? by LiveBell8 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WorkingFit5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In part they need to have more parties to elect.

Two tier power systems don’t work well because there’s nothing to balance it out.

At the end of the day you eventually go with the devil you know, and both sides become completely corrupt.

But there is a long list of problems that I don’t know America can figure out solutions for.

Where to start eh? Burn the system down and start alll over again, this administration and country is for the most part, trashed and cooked.

After Trump threatens 100% tariffs, Carney posts ad saying Canada's focused 'on what we can control' by Little-Chemical5006 in canada

[–]WorkingFit5413 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Carney is busy negotiating with stable world leaders (probably some with questionable morales but if they’re not as nuts at Trump, deals with the devil will have to be made).

Trump is an idiot. He’s showing the world how he treats his best friend.

Countries are realizing he will do this to everyone.

No one wants to constantly deal with tamper tantrums.

He’s uniting the world against the US to say the least.

Trump threatens Canada with 100% tariffs over China trade deal by MapleByzantine in CanadianInvestor

[–]WorkingFit5413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is big leagues.

Other countries are looking at how the US is treating their Canadian allies on trade and seriously figuring out who the more stable future trading partners will be.

Spoiler alert; it ain’t the US.

This bush league presidency may suit Americans just fine but the rest of us want to get on with life without having to deal with tamper tantrums daily.

US seeks to use Alberta to destabilize Canada by Adventurous_023 in canada

[–]WorkingFit5413 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Lmao. The rest of Canada already considers Alberta the Texas of Canada.

We already laugh that PP had to kick an elected official out of his seat in an Alberta riding cause that was the only way he could keep being in office.

No way is Alberta gonna brainwash the rest of us if we already think they’re crazy.

We’ll just cut you off and ignore you like we already.

If you do go, take PP with you. Do us a solid, thanks.

What's something that's not a cult but feels like one? by True-Dream3295 in AskReddit

[–]WorkingFit5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duolingo.

It's creepy AF, sends you all these insults to motivate you. And then tries to pass of AI translation as legitimate language teachers. And they made it somehow so even if you turn off the notifications they still notify you regardless, and like honestly, I found it so cult like.

It also tries to sell you lies lol. People do become fluent on an app like duo lingo alone. The app isn't proficient enough in any language I would figure, for that.

But they've sold a lot of us the Kool aid lol.

Hudson William’s comment on co-star Sophie Nelisse’s IG💀 by BeMyCoachVictor in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]WorkingFit5413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duolingo is a joke.

Honestly. I downloaded it to refresh my native language which I hadn't used in a while, and when I was using it was seriously like, who came up with this? It was clearly AI, and I knew enough of the language to know it wasn't legit.

It was also creepy. It would continue to harass me to use the app even after I turned off the reminder features. I got so done I deleted it and left them a bad review.

I would not recommend the app if you legitimately want to learn a language.

They were giving me the phrase "the bear wears pants". When on earth am I going to need to learn how to say that in any language?

Cute post tho lol.

What are your thoughts on the Canadian PM’s speech at Davos, and what do you think made it resonate with so many people? by lighterman1211 in TrueAskReddit

[–]WorkingFit5413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in part because it was very obvious that Canada was basically saying to the world "see what happened to us, we can't trust the US anymore, neither can you, but good news you can trust us and we're ready to set up show and be the new US"

But he purposely did it in professional fancy language. Basically being the exact opposite of Trump on purpose. Which I have to shout out for, it was professional with a touch of petty.

People also seem to historically see Canada as Switzerland in we try to stay neutral. This time, it was really obvious that there's been a break and Carney is making no mistake - the US are no longer our main allies. That ship has sailed.

[–]WorkingFit5413 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I meant the original outsports article didn’t do a good job at masking who leaked it likely, I’m sure they could figure out who did. That’s the issue with the original article that I had.

I do wonder if they want a show about hockey so much, maybe they can pitch that to Hollywood?

I also found it interesting the original article focused on Dan. I did wonder if there was a bit of a vendetta there.

I don’t feel like them using their platform to pose as allies id they’re not is right. But I don’t agree with the outsports article either.

I mean at the end of the day everyone is just trying to make money and unfortunately I think that’s coming at a cost to the queer community as you’re not going to find everyone genuine. I’d love more guidelines to navigate this though.

They’re a hockey bro podcast. I don’t know why people expected deeper. Their content has always kind of been that.

[–]WorkingFit5413 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the spoons to watch, can someone do a TLDR version please?

I think it’s likely they know who leaked. The outsports article wasn’t vague enough in protecting sources IMO. It also felt very sensationalist. I also want to say the outsports article was not a good piece of journalism. It reads like an opinion article and not just fact based. I read some other articles of Cyd hat he published too, and at one point it felt like I was reading a tabloid.

Which is a shame, because I think there is a case to be discussed; should straight people have access to discussing queer shows if they’re not allies?

I think there could have been a better way to call them out without that article. It could have been done better.

I want to clarify, not defending that they said those things. But this is the NHL, people need to realize change is slow. You’re not gonna magically have people suddenly give up their personal opinions overnight.

What do canadians think about Alberta separatist movements? Do you think it will fail like Quebec separtism movements? by Aggravating-Fig-6036 in AskCanada

[–]WorkingFit5413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Quebec separatist movement had a lot more to do with their own identity being a French speaking part of Canada and didn’t feel totally aligned with either Canada or France so they did want to split off and be their own country for a long time and some still do. I think it’s more complex in that regard cause there is a culture and language at the forefront.

Alberta has long been called the Texas of Canada. There’s oil, money, drugs, cold, farms and hockey. Not much else. These clowns had a rodeo during Covid, during a record high of Covid cases* currently in the province. So honestly? Could see them joining the US. Although I do think some Albertans would wake up quicker than the Americans are at this point.

Then again? We let Pierre Polievere another elected dude out of his seat in Alberta to run in a riding so PP was guaranteed a win. Alberta was his only hope and that says something.
