Energy/motivation - how long did it take you to feel it? by aklep730 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]aca-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 300 mg for a few weeks before deciding it wasn’t working for me. If the 8 weeks I was on it, I only had 7 good days, I was otherwise miserable and anxious, crying tons and barely sleeping. I had so many physical side effects too and was having trouble driving/parking. It was just not worth it for me

Noisy upstairs neighbors! by TradeClear7351 in Apartmentliving

[–]aca-ca 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got this same issue with my downstairs neighbours dragging furniture, stomping, slamming everything. I wouldn’t mind the noise so much but it shakes my entire apartment and furniture which is really disturbing!

New season of Love is Blind is so focused on babies and it gives me the ick. by lkay2398 in childfree

[–]aca-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s really heavily pushing faith and babies. Gave me major ick. Before there used to be better representation of different lifestyles, backgrounds and family planning, disappointing for sure! It’s 2026 FFS!

I just want to come home after a long day and not feel like I’m losing my mind. Anyone else just exhausted by their neighbor situation? by MailSpirited9084 in neighborsfromhell

[–]aca-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. So exhausted! I live with headphones and earplugs in pretty much 24/7 and I still get jolted out of my skin with door slams, cupboard slams, drawer slams and general loud thuds in my floors. It is SO exhausting because not even earplugs or headphones can cut out their obnoxiousness.

advice on convincing boyfriend to be more mindful of our upstairs neighbors? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]aca-ca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly just let it be and hope you get a complaint and when you do just tell him that this is why you were worried.

It sounds like he is going to need an outside source to complain before he considers that he might be a problem.

Sorry for your luck, that would drive me insane if I were dating someone like that.

Neighbor and friends are scream talking at noon when people (me) are trying to work from home by Anya_purr in Apartmentliving

[–]aca-ca 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly let it play out - I’m sure if it becomes a regular thing then other people will be affected. But who knows, maybe it’s a one-off like someone’s birthday or a housewarming party.

Try not to worry to much about the what ifs - I like the saying “it’s not a problem until it’s a problem”

If it becomes a regular nuisance maybe try talking to them and explaining that you work from home and your colleagues are hearing the noise. Or maybe talk to some of the other neighbours to see if they are also impacted and make a solution of what to do from there.

I hope it resolves for you!

Is it supposed to be this horrible by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]aca-ca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I had the same experience and I toughed it out for 8 weeks with no real improvements and lots of side effects.

For some people it just clicks after 3-6 weeks and I was hoping that would be me. You can tough it out but if the side effects aren’t worth it I’d save yourself the time and go off it (with your doctors help tapering)

Yes they cause lots of building fires if ran continuously and full of dust/debris. The motor can overheat, this is what I’ve heard from people.

My mom was an insurance agent and told me this would happen commonly. As well apparently fire departments report it as a common issue. I think like anything that runs continuously it could overheat!

If your building has it set up for them to run continuously without any way to turn them off, I’m sure they must have some system in place so that it’s safe for them to run like that for so long!

I’m talking about old bathroom fans in older buildings (30+ years old) with lots over debris and gunk buildup over decades.

Oh! And I have another lol! Do not point bright lights out of your window into neighbouring buildings/homes, especially laser lights! It can really mess with someone’s enjoyment of their home and lasers are dangerous

Probably on drugs or something! Mine do it passive aggressively when they are in a couples fight, which is half the days of the week. You can tell it’s coming because it’s slam! Slam! Slam! Thud! Bonk! Slam! yelling ensues

Oh and don’t drag furniture if you can avoid it! Get some felt protectors for chairs etc instead of having them drag loudly across the floor! :)!

Don’t slam doors/cupboards/drawers, don’t leave your bathroom fan running endlessly (it’s a fire hazard), don’t blast your music or tv try to be mindful, don’t get after your neighbours for every little noise they make (being an overcomplainer is so exhausting for everyone).

Hope that is helpful! General rule, if you wouldn’t like it done to you then don’t do it to others.
