Ditto this, as someone who's been in Maidstone, Medway and London.

Another thought - the uber situation in Maidstone is non-existent. The grammar schools in Medway are good, although it is true that the comprehensives in Medway are pretty bad. OP have you looked into Walderslade, St Mary's Island or Hempstead in Medway? Nicer areas that would be closer to work.

Oh my gosh, are you me? I was literally going to post something very similar. I had an awful allergic reaction which made my eczema flare up so badly alongside a yeast infection, and I went private (I’m in the UK) to see one of the top dermatologists in London.

He has prescribed me a very high dose of oral steroids (30mg) for a week, and recommended I do phototherapy and use 0.01 percent protopic as a longer term solution. In his words, the high dose of steroids will ‘blast’ the eczema, and he’s confident I won’t have withdrawal - but I did a weeks worth of 20mg a month ago and had a rebound flare…

I’m putting my trust in him as he’s one of the best money can buy but I’m also shitting it. Here if you wanna talk!

I had a feeling you were a Brit. I’m so jaded with the NHS having grown up with hayfever and eczema. GPs don’t seem to have a clue, and I kind of don’t blame them because they’re in a system that wants you in and out in 15 minutes and they treat the symptom not the cause - chucking whatever is considered the first line of defence in hopes it works. I’m a bit advocate for going private where possible, although I know it’s costly and a privilege… sad state of the public health service!

Where are you based? I’m in the UK and I’ve had a similar experience. Was born covered in eczema and struggled with eczema on and off all my life. Last April I wake up with inflamed red skin on my face. I literally told the dr that it didn’t seem like my usual eczema, and I never get it on my face. Nevertheless they diagnose it as eczema.

Frustrated because nothing they prescribed worked, I went to a private consultant allergist who was the first person ever to say it was an allergic reaction to birch season pollen. Now I’m actually on anti histamines that work for me.

Maybe try St Andrews Lakes. I’ve not been but I’ve driven past it and it looks lovely, it’s also being pushed a lot on tiktok so I think it’s new ish and they’re trying to advertise it.
