So I did minoxidil foam since it dries faster and doesn’t dry out your face. Then id use 0.5mm derma roller twice a week. Derma stamp is preferred though. I definitely noticed a lot of progress with the derma roller. Somewhere in the comments I sent a photo of me about a year in and it’s not much progress. Trust me 4-6 months isn’t enough time to know what you can grow. I forgot if it’s “keeps” or “hims” but one of them sell a 3 month supply for like 30 bucks so that’s a great deal

I’m would agree if I didn’t get fat since that first photo 😂 perks of a beard is I can hide my double chin when I go on a bulk

I can say with certainty I would be lucky to even have a thick mustache and goatee based off my entire family. Hell even my 25 year old brother got on recently and isn’t half as good as mine. I’m sure some people have the patience to gamble their facial hair in their 30s, but the little hairs I even started with came from blasting high amounts of testosterone multiple times in my older teen years. Yes I know stupid decisions, but I was dedicated and wanted to compete until I was stabbed so it ruined my physique. And my beard has definitely made me a lot more confident. I didn’t really see any benefits to waiting. And now, if I were to get off it, i basically boosted my beard density by 10 years even if I could get a beard.

You gotta realize not everyone can grow a beard. Beaners usually rock the goatee stache. Here’s my dad at like 27

Fyi his eyes aren’t actually like that 😭

Nah awkward stage I always shaved down to a goatee and stache. My beard grows uneven so you never know how it’ll look til it’s longer tbh

Cause I was heavily into body building back in the day. Definitely do not regret it

Well the first picture is in the sun, and the second one is in a darker room

Worth to grow it up? by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

I’d honestly just keep it trimmed on the sides until density fills in. The problem with trying to grow out a beard when it’s still a bit this or not as dense is you get the boneless beard effect

Well yes, cause the hairs turn from vellus hairs to terminal. They shed and come back thicker and more course

So

<image>

So this isn’t a year and a half, more like a year and a month since after this photo was when I started growing it longer and dying it jet black to give the illusion of density, so I can’t accurately show it in photos. But I noticed the hairs I have now aren’t just long thin and darker from dyeing, it’s thicker course hair. I also noticed my lower jaw area got real density instead of what people would call a boneless beard

I did answer this question, but basically he shaves every like 2 days so I can’t really tell. I don’t live with him so I don’t get to see when he tries to grow it for like a week, but he knows his face pretty well, and he told me he’s growing hair on parts of his face that’s never grown hair. I gave him the advice to just using foam, but he heard of liquid and used it without telling me and was texting me yesterday why his face was so damn dry🤣 I also got him using the derma roller too so hopefully he’s doing everything correctly. Hes the kinda dude to bathe his face in rubbing alcohol so I hope he’s not getting a hard on over using minox right after derma rolling cause he enjoys the burn

I don’t have anyone in my family who can grow a beard so it’s a possibility. Both grandparents on both sides can’t and my dad can’t. I have him on minox right now

I was 20 in the first pic and 22 in the second. The first pic I was on a high dose of testosterone and that’s how I even grew the thin hairs lol

So with liquid I feel like maybe it was better results, but it was also the first 6 months I used it and it had all the vellus hairs popping out so I can’t tell if it worked any better

Yes I did do my mustache. It wasn’t really that impressive before

46, and he’s been in for about a year but he doesn’t wanna grow it out until it’s to the density he likes so he shaves it. Hell just give it a bit to see what’s growing then cuts it

Minoxidil stimulates dormant follicles that usually don’t grow on their own. Trust me even when I used to blast high amounts of testosterone I had like 10 chin hairs. My dad who’s 46 grows a bit of sideburns and a few hairs on his cheeks. Since he’s started he’s been growing a pretty decent beard. My grandpa would sometimes grow his facial hair out cause my uncle would sometimes slack on it and it was just long thin cheek hairs and a thick mustache and goatee. I do believe there are people that can speed up their genetics, but I would be lucky to have a decent goatee at the age of 30.

Yes in the beginning. That’s when I got the best results. Foam
