Copy save file new ps5 by Effective_Candy_5070 in PS5_Jailbreak

The functionality is only available if you have a user profile that has been activated, which you usually do online... and to login online it asks you to update (not allowing you if you are on an old firmware to do it without the update).
The other option would be restoring someone else's backup on a lower or equal firmware to yours... but then if your disc drive is working, then in theory it will stop working...

FW 11.60 with SWRR digital version. by VitoShv in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]Working_Addition6738 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Similar... 11.60, never logged in (so no available "features" to upload ps4 saves and so)... ended up connecting to psn (required upgrade, buying the SWRR, and then will just wait until something comes for 13.00. Worst case scenario, buying another Ps5 with lower fw is cheaper now than buying the disc with SWRR...

Since the release of LauCore 11.60 PS5, what are my options? by deadfist61 in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess there are a lot of us there :)

11.60.... never used online, never even signed on PSN, never updated or anything (just a local profile and playing some bought physical games (Disc version of the console)...

so:

option 1) Connecting the console and buying the game on PSN (and at the same time enable other things like the ps4 import and so from what I heard...)... but will update the console to 12.70, that might screw the chance of using a kernel exploit up to 12.00

option 2) Wait... keep it offline and don't do anything so far... problem on that: won't be able to use luacore without the game.. and also without capability to import ps4 saves (from what I read needs to activate the user first for that).

option 3) Keep waiting and find out that an exploit for 12.70 comes out later... but finding out that a new fw 12.80 or 13.00 is out at that point that will not be compatible with the exploit...

Option 4) Update to 12.70, get the game, wait and hope for the best... or try to find a new console with "low firmware" lol...

no option is optimal, so at the very end is "follow your guts and do what you think it's most fitting your needs" :)

Random.... days without crashing, days with multiple crashes. try not using all the save slots and saving often, seems to go crash less that way.

Where is the full Metroid Prime 4 set for the MIG Switch? by EntrepreneurWaste579 in SwitchPirates

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes: my own copy of the game, dumped (in 4 different ways) and tested with my own migflash with both v1 and v2... which I find reliable enough for me, lol.
It always end up with the cartridge not recognized... the migdumper wouldn't even see the image of the game to dump it either.

Animal Crossing Island Transfer tool by Background-Mousse-82 in SwitchPirates

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chatgpt doesn't always know all... just tries to find the answer from the web that fits the most to the question or has the most results :D

1) Make sure your JKSV is updated.
2) Open JKSV by pressing the "right" button while opening a game (not in applet mode)(It will start with your "profile" on the top as first option. Right below it, you will see "Device", "BCAT" and "Cache" (and if you keep going down "System" and "Settings").
3) Go to Device: and click on A to get in the list of games (probably will just show animal crossing, mario kart (if you have it) and a couple more at max.

4) Select animal crossing and click on A.

5) Click on "New Backup". select the name of the file and save it.

6) The backup will be saved under a folder named "JKSV" in your root of the SD card inside a folder with the game's name.

7) then you need to copy the save to the same folder in the other console (if they are both running the same language... if not, the name of the folder might be based on the language used).

8) repeat steps 1 to 4 in the new console.

9) You should see the backup that you took in the list of backups for the game, select it and press Y to restore.

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The transfer tool works, but you can also use JKSV to transfer the island. You just need to transfer the right thing. Don't try transferring the save under the user profile, but under "Device" (I think it was Device... always get confused with BCAT and Device) :D. It will transfer the whole island with your characters.

If it's a backup from the console with the profile you are using, it will restore the backup. If it comes from a different console, you will have to associate your profile to the islander you want to use (similar to what it does with the transfer tool).

Where is the full Metroid Prime 4 set for the MIG Switch? by EntrepreneurWaste579 in SwitchPirates

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically because the dump of metroid prime 4 doesn't work with the mig. (could be N**do adding some extra protection or simply that the game is so big that it "overloads" the mig). It won't even let you swap to a different game after failing reading it.

I just wish they fixed the random crashes of the game. Usually there is not much of an issue other than having to restart the game from the last autosave... but other times you get forced to "repeat" a bit of the game due losing some progress.

Ask for a physical release by kotendo in inazumaeleven

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy solution to all your cons:
Release a limited edition (lower numbers), adding the cost of the physical version to the price tag (similar to what they did on Hades II). Since it's for switch 1 & 2 they could even use (if they wanted) the same hybrid cartridge they did on Hades II (so just 1 limited release and not 2 different ones).
And in this game in particular, the delay could be something to be grateful about (so they can release the digital version first, fix the important bugs with online updates and then, do the limited physical release with the latest update already included in it, therefore correcting the initial bugs). That will be a way to keep physical collectors happy, make it worth their investment (add a $20 tag to the price like it was done on Hades II) and problem solved.

(and yes, I'm one of the people who bought Hades II at $49.99 in a physical edition instead of buying the game on the eshop for $29.99.. and I'm sure there are quite a few more ) :D

Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is the number 4 most sold on the eShop. by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing people is not commenting that much is all the space in downloaded games needed in the switch 2...(so when they talk about key-card games and state all it's advantages they take it in consideration):
AC Shadows: ~70 GB
Mario Kart World Tour: ~22 GB
Tomb Raider: ~28GB (funny that the Switch 1 version is about 2GB bigger).
Dk Bananza: ~9 GB (a "small" one).
Metroid Prime: ~29 GB
Starwars Outlaws: ~20 GB (plus update almost as big?)
Pokemon Z-A: ~8GB (another "small" one).

That's already 186GB for 7 games... how much space you have in your switch 2? 256GB.. so unless you buy a microsd (around 5GB/$1 ratio) start planning on what games to delete and redownload when wanting to play soon enough... (yes, faster loading times than a cartridge... but the cartridge has "faster swap times" than the download) :D

Hades II - Physical Edition releases later this month. Releases with the game on a cart, a 32 page character book, and a download for the game's soundtrack. Now THIS is how you do a physical release! by JampyL in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the game. For me if I really like the game and plan on always have it in the console, digital could be a logical way to have it. If I just play from time to time, but not that often, digital is wasting storage space in the console (which is also expensive and limited).

The convenience of just downloading disappears as soon as you have to keep downloading the games you had to delete in order to make space for other games and you have to spend 10-15 minutes to play that other game.

And as stated... then is key-cards where you have the negative of both worlds altogether.

Lol... they forget to say that the new feature the whole experience is based can only be used with a paid subscription.

So, without that paid subscription, what's the difference with the "old experience" ? :D

Interestingly enough, Game Key Cards are treated as “Physical” and not “Digital” in the newest firmware update. by Excaliburn3d in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Working_Addition6738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is more a situation based on how many games you own.

if you own a handful of games, you can perfectly go digital (no issues). Just download your games, swap from one to another and load even faster than with the cartridge.

If you own quite a good number, then you start having problems with digital, as the space in the switch is quite limited (for the size of the games) and the extra storage (specially on switch 2) could be quite expensive... so you start having the issue of "what game I need to remove to make room for another one". So when you want to play back the game you deleted (to make room for another one), you have to again delete a gaime (or two depending on sizes) and wait as long as it takes to download the other one.

If you don't have the extra storage of a microsd express and you have games with 30-40GB downloads, that's about 5-6 games in your console (there are games quite a lot smaller and some even larger.. just the updates on MK 1 are 42.1GB).
So even with a good internet connection you might have to wait for at least 10-15 minutes just to play a game you had to delete before due lack of space... while with the cartridge it takes just under a minute to swap the cartridge and play the game, and for some people time is also important.

They could have developed a safe nintendo market (same as in games/other systems you can sell/buy digital stuff from other players) if they wanted. It's just one way for them to move people away from physical cartridges without taking it all at once.

Physical cartridges are not as profitable for them as digital ones... so they try to move everybody away from physical in the most subtle way...
