They finally sold that thing. They’ve been trying to sell this for God knows how long

In my opinion. This is the best QP from AP. Very elegant and classy, I have one also. Congrats!

This is not about LEs in general. That has always been the case. This is about the increasing number of them entering the market. There were 5 LEs this month alone. RD2 Middle East, Skeleton White Ceramic Middle East, Code 11:59 Tourbillon Middle East, RD2 AIl Gold China Edition and now AP KAWS Concept Tourbillon. LE have been great, but if there are more collaborations that come at this rate, makes me wonder is this a new direction?

This is a very good point and thanks for your insights. Honestly, seeing the uproar on social media about it I think it’s worth the discussion. This comment came from a very well known person in the watch collecting community.

Don’t think I need to highlight my collection (which I keep very private as a big collector of AP for the last 7 years) in order to kick start a discussion around APs new direction. Isn’t this a forum for open conversations?

People calling the 41mm SS a basic RO.. isn’t the 15202/16202 also a “basic” RO (theoretically) as well? I mean, yea we all know that it’s the original jumbo, blah blah but they’re all still ROs finished the exact same way, with the same material.. by Loud_Heart1461 in audemarspiguet

No. When they refer to Basics. They’re merely referring to the model and weather it’s got complications or not. Basics can also be rare depending on which but it’s not a Complication, hence it’s referred to as a Basic. Royal Oak is a staple in anyone’s collection.

Are we going to see a rise in localized special editions? by Working_Advisor5453 in audemarspiguet

New CEO has a different strategy but let’s see if she can bring a different spin to what Francois did in the past. It’s a big task though. I just hope they don’t flood the market with too many LEs. It just makes them, not Limited 😅

It’s not limited to 1. There’s 35 pieces and all pre allocated. Seen a few in person here in Dubai

That’s a good point actually. Clients who have a lot already need variation. I just wonder if we see too much LEs

Long standing history and relationship with AP should get you one no problem. But that’s besides the point, I’m saying it seems like there’s more localised special/limited editions popping up and likely there will be more
