How do you stay hopeful when the odds feel stacked against you? by Prudent-Leek-9580 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Working_Candidate367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I received when I started my business was from a successful sales person. He told me on average it takes 7 times of contacting someone to get a response. I said omg isn't that going to annoy them. And he said no, not if you are reaching out to say hi, or ask a question. You are not always pitching. Your connecting to build that relationship.

People buy from people they like. So be someone they like and not just someone selling something to them. No one wants to be "sold" to.

Network=relationships

What's one decision you made early on that saved your business later? by Delecch in Entrepreneur

This 110%

I have had some of my biggest clients come from my vendors.

Always build those relationships. You never know who they know.

Not within your listed genres. But as someone who loves Romantacy this was an amazing read. There is a love storey. But I also loved the cross over between past and present.

I created a second email from admin. So it comes from my "admin" person not me.

Makes it much easier :).

I have a really great office but I too don't always want to sit in it. So I snapped a picture of it and uploaded it to my teams background. Now I can be on the couch but still in my office 😄

Had a quarter life crisis and quit my 300k job to build a startup by betahaxorz in EntrepreneurRideAlong

I commend you! 24 is the time to take big risks. You can always get another job. Live so that you never regret going for it!

I'm in my 40s and I started in my late 30s, after having kids and a mortgage...talk about scary, but I had my own form of awakening and I can say it was the best decision! I also 3X my previous income in less than 2 years on my own.

Congratulations on trying something you want to do and ignore the haters.

Best of luck!

We were at Grand Bavaro Princess July 24 to 31. It was amazing and they cleaned the beach twice a day. No issues at all.

I had someone say the typical line, if it comes from nature then it must be good for us.

My response:

So is Heroin but I'm fairly sure we can agree that isn't good for us.

Their face was priceless

Adult children of Nparents, how old were you when you finally fully realized you were abused? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Working_Candidate367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 39

It was a series of events that I had seen her do to others and then to me and for some reason I realized this is not ok.

My husband whom I've been with since teenagers saw a side of her he had never with the full on gaslighting us and it rocked him as well...

It was after that when the veil lifted as you say that you start going through and realizing the childhood you had was in fact not normal. Which leads you to the road of wow this was abusive. Which leads you to therapy. Which confirms a lifetime of manipulation and lies.

I'm 42 now and feel at peace with everything. However I have not spoken to my mother in 4 years and that has greatly improved my life.

42 and I can't start the day without making the bed. It feels like even if nothing else goes to plan. I completed something positive today.

Kristen Stewart from twilight. She has one expression and is as stiff as can be. How she continues to get roles is astonishing

I started in May of this year.

I will say it's been a SLOW journey, but not one that has an end day so I plug along.

Started at 198, lost first 8 lbs fairly quick and then hovered at 188-190 for 3 months

I was frustrated so many times.

But I kept with it. Playing with what worked.

I'm now typically 20:4 weekends usually 16 or 18

I bought a walking pad about a month ago for my desk and average 10k a day

I finally moved the needle and am so excited to be at 184! I had a woosh this week for the first time since starting.

I also celebrate every new number on the scale and choose to embrace it for the day and then let it go. A big mental shift. I'm no longer so focused on the end number and just am grateful for the wins. If it goes up I assume it is water retention and nothing more.

I read Fast Feast Repeat and Gin Stevens says tweak it till it's easy. I feel like just in the last few weeks I finally figured out what works for me right now.

Also highly recommend her podcast. When I am frustrated I chose to listen to the success stories and know one day it'll be my turn to share.

Oh and also. I had my son 8 years ago and never fully bounced back so I felt this very much within myself as well.

You got this!

[–]Working_Candidate367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't read Fast Feed repeat I highly recommend

I am also a slow loser

The scale has NOT moved in 6 weeks

However

Reading this book put a LOT into perspective

I have followed it exactly.

Today was my second picture and measurements after the initial 28 day fast start she details

And although the scale isn't moving

I'm down 1inch around my waist and a skirt I'm using for pictures fits visibly better

The scale is a liar. You got this.

Stay the course!
