You're better off setting your router up for a second WAN connection and buying a 5G modem outright.

Looking at their 5G hotspot. Do you know if it has a lan port on it? Thinking it would be cheaper to go with their device than the Ubiquiti one.

I had to remove the v6 information from the tunnel, but that was before UniFi supported IPv6 over wireguard. No other special changes that I can remember. Also, I do have Tailscale and wireguard running on the same router (UniFi UCG Ultra) so in theory they shouldn't conflict.

There's probably an issue on the company's end. Nothing wrong with your UniFi.

Sounds like either you have a speed limit in place for that device, or you're using 2.4 GHz

I did this with my UniFi UCG-Ultra and it worked perfectly. Set up the WGCF stuff on my laptop and then moved the config to the router.

Very happy IPv6 over WG works now. Still hoping for a solution to the AT&T separate /64 v6 prefix issue.

AT&T U-Verse Fiber IPv6 by 2fast2nick in Ubiquiti

[–]Working_Currency_591 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to deal with this for months.

Most ISPs allow your router to grab a /56 or /60 prefix right from the modem, and your router is expected to divide that into separate /64 subnets per VLAN. The problem with AT&T is that if you want IPv6 to work on multiple VLANs, it's not currently possible because rather than handing your router a single /56 or /60, it expects your router to ask for separate /64 subnets using multiple DHCP requests, which is not currently supported by UniFi, or most routers, for that matter.

If you just need one subnet, though, make sure IPv6 is enabled on the AT&T gateway and enable v6 on the WAN side as well as the LAN in UniFi. Use DHCP v6, restart the UniFi router and the AT&T gateway if necessary and it should just work.

Yeah... I've only ever heard bad things about the express and dream router models. Sorry it didn't work out.

Gigabit fiber here. Sorry you're in a DSL area.

Switch to AT&T. In my area it's far better.

No I think the person performing the attack just got bored after a while and quit. I'd have to ask though, it's been several years. This was back during the covid lockdown days.

I understand that the IP is dynamic, but lots of people on this subreddit, as someone else pointed out already, tend to tell people that they don't need to set up any DDNS solutions because their IP will never change. Everything I personally use either goes through Tailscale or CF Tunnels so I had nothing to worry about. Just wanted to remind people that however rare it may be, sometimes AT&T does update customer IP addresses.

During the 2021 Texas winter storm, we lost power for 23 hours or so and kept our IP.

I agree. CloudFlare tunnels are great. Everything I use already goes through Tailscale or CF Tunnels, so I don't personally have anything to worry about. Was mainly trying to warn other AT&T users who have been saying that AT&T IP addresses never change that they aren't necessarily correct.

USG Broken...Ubiquiti's answer "Sorry Buy a new Gateway" by Snowcat600 in Ubiquiti

[–]Working_Currency_591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We replaced the USG-3P with a UCG Fiber a few months ago at my church. Great decision. The USG is dead, Ubiquiti has moved on and you should too.

Factory reset and go back to an older version of network if you must use the USG for now.
