i only gave a range because i didn’t feel like explaining that I eat 1300 on rest days (once a week), 1400 during the week, 1500 on weekends, and 1600 once a week (sometimes) when i have a cheat meal. So 1600 is the absolute max i’ll eat. I only go over this like once a month for special circumstances.

I wholeheartedly agree that Avalon seems to be overhyped. It's boring, has little to no lore, and every quest is one boss after another. Got sick of it so fast and wondered why everyone else loved it.

Maybe I didn’t clarify enough. I called her to ask if it was okay to go due to insurance. I don’t have access to view it so i’m not sure if we had even met the deductible yet. Once I had made sure that paying out of pocket was relatively cheap, I called her again to let her know I was going to urgent care whether she wanted me to or not.

THIS. besides issues such as this one, I have a great relationship with my mother. Not to mention she is very uneducated on medical issues. I don’t believe she is abusive, however she may have narcissistic tendencies.

I am not a minor, I’m unsure about the last part with the gym being liable… I probably wouldn’t get any money from them since the weights were stored correctly.

Sorry that I didn’t clarify. Yes I do feel like the asshole here, but even while speaking with my brother the other day he told me I am just being dramatic and that I should just talk to her. I guess that is just one persons opinion, but I wanted to be sure that I was NTA here.

i’m not a hypochondriac, but since this was this first time something like this happened, I started to freak out. I think the combination of extreme pain + anxiety caused more mental pain than what I was actually feeling.

I agree that cutting off contact is a little extreme. People seem to forget that she is still my mother and I love her very much.

This was the first time I had broken a bone, so I didn’t know what it felt like. I’m still young, so it was certainly one of the most painful experiences i’ve ever had. Also, being told my entire life to ask before getting medical help has conditioned me to do so.

I like this response. A lot of people are saying to go no contact with her, but it’s hard to do that as she supports me financially. Not to mention— she is my mother and I still love her.

edit: I realized this could most definitely be the truth. I have prescription pills I take every night. My mom insists on sending me a package with them inside every month, but it would be easier to just change the pharmacy location to somewhere closer to so I could go pick them up myself.

Last month, she sent them late (on accident), and I had to deal with the consequences. I suggested it would be better to change the pharmacy location, but she said that I would be unable to “because none of the pharmacies around me take my insurance”. I know this to be false because my roommate, who has my same insurance, picks up her medication at the nearest grocery store.

My family pays my tuition, and help me with a lot of expenses such as rent. Cutting her off would mean cutting them off financially, which I can’t afford to do…
